Did Haley on American Idol make you mad the other night?

After she sang with all her assets hanging out everywhere and Simon made his comment about her having nice legs...did you see the look she gave him? I agree that his comment may ahve not been called for. he is there to critique her singing not her body, but it's not like we all weren't looking at her body! Her VERy low cut dress, her short skirt. Why was she dressed like this??? For attention!!! I am not dissin her...if I had the body, I would be showing it off, too. But then to get upset and make the face she did..does she really think that people can watch her and NOT think about and/or comment on her body???

Oh, it's ridiculous!! It's so annoying when women wear skimpy clothing and get all MAD when someone makes a comment or assumption. If it's so offensive, why do they walk out of the house leaving nothing to the imagination?? No one's that stupid, they know exactly what they're doing. Have you seen that Dave Chapelle stand up when he talks about women getting mad at people assuming they're promiscuous because of their outfits? He was like, "It'd be like if I put on a police uniform and someone ran up to me and needed help....I'd go, "Just because I'm DRESSED this way does NOT make me a cop! Well, ladies, just because you're dressed that way doesn't make you a h**ker....but you're wearing a h**ker's uniform"LOL LOL LOL

LOL right! I mean, as I said before...just because a woman dresses sexy doesn't mean the she is asking to be touched, but she HAS to expect the looks and the comments.

EXACTLY!!! (I'm glad to see other people share my view) And I do admit, I have dressed in skimpy clothes before (aka, short skirt or low-cut blouse) but I HAVE TO SAY: It was TASTEFUL skimpy-does that make sense?? And when I did dress in my "skimps" it was completely and utterly for the sole purpose of making my husband drop his jaw, not AMERICA!!! LOL

I agree with you both. One must dress properly and respectably if you do not want to receive improper comments.

I think that she knows that she is not as good a singer as the other people on there and that if she dressed up very sexy she would attract more votes from the guys. She is prettier than the other ladies on the show but you are right that Simon should not be commenting about her legs and should be discussing her singing abilities. This is not a beauty pageant. If she does not want comments like that, she should wear outfits that do not show as much skin. All the contestants should be careful about what they wear or do not wear on the show.

exactly. I mean, all of the judges have commented on outfits and all here and there. I see nothing wrong with it. I can see that Simon didn't pair his legs comment with a critique on her singing, but she just shouldn't be upset about it. Maybe I mis-read her face...I just thought she looked mad and it really bothered me. If I wear a dress like that, I WANT people to look at me.

Obviously, she's desperate to stay on the show that's why she has to dress like that, and of course it's also obvious to Simon, so she shouldn't be upset with Simon's comment because she asked for it. But I'm not mad at her, I just don't understand why's America keeping her?? She must be feeling guilty and uncomfortable though when someone better than her leaves the show, I feel sorry for her, in a way.

I don't care for her one way or the other, really. She's an okay singer and is okay looking. Simon just said what probably 75% of the people were thinking, or at least something along the lines of "hey, nice, short, skirt". I don't think she liked anyone, especially Simon, saying it. Should he have said it? Probably not, but it wouldn't be the first time he said something that he probably shouldn't have. If she didn't want the comments, however, maybe she should have worn something else. Short skirts with low necklines are going to get negative attention as well as positive. If ya can't take the jokes/puns/comments, they maybe ya shouldn't be wearing outfits like that.

In my opinion, she should be happy that the judges made positve comments...though it was for her body and not her singing ability. Her singing wasn't really that good...but she really look good on stage.

Nah I don't get mad at her, she's really just some girl on tv to me and nothing more. What made me mad was that she didn't go home! I don't care for her, she isn't a terrible singer or very irritating, just she doesn't stand out. I didn't even notice what she was wearing to be honest! Maybe she just made a face because it was Simon saying it!

I agree with you. She just doesn't stand out. I do think she's a good singer, just not anything that you remember.

Oh man how I agree with this one. This could not have been said better. But I was wondering why the look? So people would remember her this way, and not her singing, and Vote to keep her in still? Somehow in my opinion this yr. has been a weird yr. and loosing the Flavor from the Good singing talents they had on their last yr.

She didn't really make me mad, I didn't notice the face. The only thing I don't like about her is that she seems to be this cutesy bimbo sometimes. She doesn't seem real at all and I don't think she sings all that great. But, she really did look great in that dress.

Oh yeah, she did look great in the dress. :) I'm a grown straight woman and I thought she was really gorgeous, but I just get aggravated when women dress so provocatively and then get mad when commented on. I see if someone goes further with rude comments and/or touching, but saying you have nice legs...I dont' know...she just rubbed me to wrong way. LOL Maybe just becasue her attitude sucks. She's not a horrible singer...I think she can sing decent enough...just nothing special. :)

I wouldn't have gotten mad if Simon said if Simon said I had nice legs, I actually think he's cute. And, it was not like he was coming on to her or anything, he's dating a beautiful woman himself.

I don't know how those two 'Simon Said' things got in my last sentence, my computer was doing something weird at that time.

She doesn't pick out her outfits, she has someone else doing that for her. No big deal, even if she did pick the outfit out. She gots a good looking body and there isn't nothing wrong with showing her legs off. It's a show. Not a big deal. People dress so much more tacky then that. She was actually pretty decent.

I am not saying she was dressed badly. I thought she looked great. My point is only that if you dress like that, you shouldn't get so aggravated when someone comments on it. As far as someone else picking out clothes...they do have a stylist, but they have the final say in what they wear.

I remeber back when it first started Simon Cowel forgot her name, as she was quite insignificant. Since then her attire has got more and more revealing, but her voice has not improved. I have no problem with women showing off their assets, its part of the act, but she seems to have gone overboard as a way of being noticed. What Simon said was very tongue in cheek. As he could not compliment her on her singing he was quite polite. Not like usual, and so commented on her legs.

No, she didn't make me mad the other night. She made me think a few other things, though. lol What can you say, she is very nice looking. They keep saying that she's not memorable. I guess that is her attempt to gain more attention and votes. I don't think she's bad, and I don't think she's anything great. To those who say Haley should be gone already, I don't see what makes her any worse than 3 others who are still around. To me, she's not as bad as Phil, Sanjaya, or Chris R (The Justin Timberlake wannabe). Anyway, its all a moot point because there are only 3 true contenders at this point ... Melinda, Jordin, and Lakisha ... end of story! :)

No it did not make me mad at all. She is a very pretty girl. I think she was just surprised but I dont really think she gave any kind of a look that would make people mad at her. If they did they are taking the show way too seriously

I didn't get mad at her about it, but I did notice it. I think that she is pulling out all the stops at this point and using her best assets to make up for not being one of the best singers. I think she realized that Simon was 'calling her on it', so to speak, and it probably just annoyed her. If you remember, she had previously commented on how much it meant to her to get a good remark.... and then for him to not give her any more than that. I personally think all of the judges did her a disservice that night. Randy bailed out of really saying anything at all. Paula choked because she usually takes what Randy says and just twists it around a bit. So 'you've got nice legs' is really all she got and that's just not right.

You are right...she didn't get any comment at all. I realized that, too. And, no it's not right. I think they just didn't have anything to say. She was not bad, but not good, either. I don't "dislike" her...I just don't think she's great and right now they need to be great. I just give up on Sanjaya! LOL Him NOT being in the bottom 2 or 3 the last couple of weeks just really makes me mad. LOL

So far, I think we've seen more of Haley's physical attributes then anything else. I'm not so sure I'd want my "American Idol" to be the one half naked in front of millions... But then again, that's just an opinion.

I think she cut the face because the judges are known to make comments about the outfits and how the people look when they don't want to say how badly the contestant did...and I think she knew that that was why they were saying "well...you LOOK great!" I don't think it was an "I'm offended by your comment about my legs" I thought it was a cute dress, and I've seen contestants wear a LOT less than that. I like Haley, though.

Well if youre gonna dress like that then you need to be ready for people to say things like that. I am not saying shes wrong I dress like that alot but I also know people will star, whistle and make comments. She knows shes only still around cause shes got nice legs. Her voice is cute but gina was alot better but gina doesnt have the legs to stay I guess lol.

I think it was extremely low cut and I cant undertand why she was not scared her boobs might fall out..unless that's what she was hoping for to get extra attention.

No, I wouldn't really say I got mad at her... maybe her face was inappropriate, but so was the judges' behavior. I watched a replay of it, and noticed how Haley's critique pretty much got completely passed by in the process of one of the judging panel's little "internal skirmishes." Randy and Paula were all wrapped up in Simon "having the FIRST word" and passed the baton to him, without saying anything to Haley... as such, the ONLY feedback Haley got was Simon's comment about her legs... and frankly, that was RUDE and UNprofessional, on the judges behalf. Haley may not be very talented, and she may be using her looks to stay in the competition, but she's not just a "joke" like Sanjaya. In a sense there was unprofessional behavior on BOTH sides of the table.

I think she is not a wonderful singer and her singing ability is not commendable. To distract the people's attention from her singing and to cover up her weaknesses she dressed up very sexy. It looked as if she was appearing for a beauty pageant. If she does not like this kind of comments of course she should wear outfits that do not show too much skin.

if she had a great singing voice (and i mean IF, coz she doesn't), don't you think the people should have noticed that instead of paying more attention to what she was wearing or if she was actually wearing enough clothes to cover what's supposed to be covered? :) what really ticked me is the fact that she's still there. she managed to stay longer than far better singers than she. (like sabrina, stephanie and gina). not fair.
