Who do you have sympathy with?

a mother with her baby - A baby is always so dear to its mother.

The couple is my neighbor. Both of them are cripples and live a rather poor life. They don't have children. A few days ago they intended to adopt a baby but was refused by the baby's mother. The mother said,"I have to give my baby away but how can I give it to cripples? You are the last family to which I will give my baby." The couple were seriously hurt and experienced prejudice once again. But some people don't think it right to blame the mother, either because she has the right to choose a good family for her baby. Who do you have sympathy with, the couple or the mother?

The couple of course. I will sympathize with the couple. I feel that what the mother said is just too callous and insensitive.

My sympathy goes out to all that are involved. I sympathize with the couple because they weren't able to prove to her that they could be wonderful parents.I agree that the girl has the right to choose who she would like to adopt her baby.I symapthize with her because she made the hard decision to give her child up for adoption and also she has the hard job now of finding parents for the child that she believes would be the best choice to take her place in raising the child.

I have sympathy for both of them in a way. I feel sorry that the mother has decided to give up her baby for one. I also have sympathy for her in choosing good parents for the baby to make sure it is well taken care of. I have sympathy for the crippled couple also because they are being judged and not given a chance to prove they can be good parents to the baby. I think they deserve at least a chance to prove themselves.

Wow, this is really tough! I feel for both parties, but I do agree that the mother has the right to choose the best family she can find for her baby. It is sad that your neighbors have not been able to enjoy the joy of parenthood, but it will probably be difficult for them to find a baby to adopt.
