When I was sick, my mother used to make potato soup and milk toast. (Not necessarily together!) I still make and eat potato soup, but it never tastes as good as Mom's. I don't eat milk toast anymore, because I've read that there are too many illnesses possible with raw eggs. Too bad. I like milk toast and I think it was good for me.

I have ALOT of comfort foods. My mom was an awesome cook and would spoil us with big country style meals. I wish I had paid more attention to how she made some of her favorite dishes.
Some of my comfort foods are:
Pancakes (crispy on the edges)
Meatloaf (I do not make this often because my husband doesn't like it but when I do, it makes me happy)
Potato Salad (one of the few things I learned how to make just like my mom use to)
Peanut Butter Balls (a Christmas Favorite)
Walnut Fudge (another Christmas Favorite)
Chocolate Chip Cookies (they need to be buttery and warm!)
Cream of Celery Soup (my mom use to give this to me when I was sick or on cold days)
Biscuits (with butter and jam.. yumm!)
Fried Potatoes (I do not make these that often, my mom use to make them in a cast iron skillet and they would be all stuck together, soft in the middle and crispy/a little burnt in the edges. I have never been able to make them like she did)
Mother's Iced Raisin Cookies (these were a favorite of my mom and I - our own little secret that we shared together and didn't tell anyone else)
Tootsie Rolls (my all time favorite candy)
I know there are more but that's what I'll share for now.

Hi OURDEW, hope all is well.
I have 2 comfort foods and they are actually great together as well. I love chocolate and ice cream, I could live off of them.

Chocolate ice cream isn't bad, but it's not as good as it should be I think anyhow!

Chocolate! I crave it all the time when I am bored or sitting at the computer. My mom raised us up on sweets, she did buy and feed us the nutritious meals too, but we always had a house full of snacks for evening time.
Hubby and I will go on a junk food splurge once in a while to where the cart is filled with nothing but sweets...yummy! ;)

I have several reasons for needing comfort food. When I'm sick I need chicken soup as my comfort food, as no other food makes me feel better. If I'm upset about something, then bring on the sweets specially ice cream. I only buy the smallest size, so I can't eat all of the calories needed for a day in a single snack.

chocolates has always been my comfort food. whenever i feel down, i'd turn to chocolates. whenever i am happy, i'd eat chocolates. whenever i feel that i should do something, i'd eat chocoalate.
my world revolves around chocolates... when my husband does something wrong, all he had to do is bring home chocolates.
