the other day my daughter fell outside and scrapped her knee. it was a huge deal to her. for about 3 hours she was limping and moaning, oh my knee. she climbed into my bed and was saying oh it hurts when you just touch it softly like this and oh the blanket on it is hurting it. then she says i have to go get elmo and my pillow, she jumps off, runs, jumps back on the bed on her knees, then starts moaning again. it was so funny, what a little faker and drama queen.

I must say, I use to be the same way, which is probably how I got my nickname when I got older, because somethings never change. Quite funny, for the longest time when I was dating my exhusband, his co-workers actually thought my name was drama, until they finally met me. I guess that's one of the joys of having a girl, to see how dramatic they can be as they grow and define who they are.

Our drama queen of the family turned 16 years old yesterday. She spent the day wearing her tiara. At least it was not the one that lights up and blinks. She has always been a drama queen since she was little. Sometimes, her drama can be useful like in the school plays, band performances or when she feels strongly about an issue. She saw the school custodian handling the flag improperly. She rounded up several girl scouts and boy scouts. Then she pleaded her case to the principal. Now her band of scouts take care of the flag everyday. Of course there have also been the times she started a few petitions too. One was to save a teacher's job. Enjoy your drama queen now while she is little. But be warned....she will grow up to be a strong leader and her skills as a drama queen will be of great help to her.

My oldest is the sameway. It drives me nuts at times and other times I will be laughing on the inside. She will get a minor scrape that she will complain about FOR DAYS! She hurt her hand 4 days ago. Has one little scrape on it and she is still complaining about it today. Its not infected and it looks fine.. but she loves to dramatize stuff lol!
