How often do you laugh at yourself?

Can you laugh like bunny? - People who often laughed the most heartily registered the biggest drops in their level of stress. When you're under pressure, you get trapped in a cycle of catastrophic thoughts. A little humor can breaks into those thoughts, allowing you to regain mental control.

Its been said that people who laughed the most heartily registered the biggest drops in their level of stress. When you're under pressure, you get trapped in a cycle of catastrophic thoughts - this is so terrible! there's no way out! A little humor though can breaks into those thoughts, allowing you to regain mental control. In my case, I often found myself laughing while reading some of the discussions here. Admittedly, there are a lot of users who has a good sense of humor and a witty mind. You'll see me smiling, grinning and cracking up in front of the PC. I found it refreshing and it did help eased off my somewhat gloomy mood. I'm afraid that my family will think that I'm turning into a lunatic. "grin" Do you also find yourself laughing while reading the threads here? Did it help to lighten up your spirit? Are you a person who can easily laughed at any silly jokes? Or are you a person who didn't find anything amusing at all? Do share your thoughts.

When i am under stress i talk to myself. To make myself stress free i have a lot to think of and most of the times i laugh at my silly mistakes i have done. Thats the way i keep myself off stress. Coming to laughing at articles or discussions we read that happens very often. I do chat with my friends and if there is some thing that makes me laugh i don't hesitate laughing loud.

Oh I am so glad to know there are others who talk to themselves, I do the same thing and then tend to laugh at myself for doing it. My youngest son often responds with "Oh I thought you were talking to yourself again" when he tries to ignore me talking to him.

hiya charms. your post really made me smile. yea some posts really make me ponder and then smile at the witty way of presenting a post slightly joking way. it makes one to go through the complete content of the post and respond with a smile or even a grin. even in real i have smiled at myself not loud laughs ..lol. though. it gives me a great strength to think over and over the problems and tackle them with ease.

I tried to avoid going through topics that are too serious or personal. I have too many dramas in my life already, LOL. I'm grateful for the occasional laughter I have here at mylot. :)

I tend to laugh at myself daily - there is always something stupid or silly that I have done. If not then I look for something to laugh at, in myself. I am a firm believer in laughing being the best medicine and a daily dose is a great stress reliever - no matter what the situation I will try to find something to laugh about. I learned this years ago from my Mom, our family always tries to see the lighter side of things. I guess that's how we survived years of unhappiness. As for myLot sometimes I do set here and laugh and laugh at some of the discussions - actually not so much the discussions themselves as some of the responses. I love the stories that people share and the explinations for some of the things they've done.

I prefer to have a responses that looks like we're communicating. Oftentimes, it amused me to see the way how users are responding. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm laughing loudly here all by myself. :)

Yes, i like to laugh very much. If a human being enjoys the humor during stress, he will feel easy to do the work and also I laugh for silly jokes and having fun with laughter. even i watch in the tv only the humor programmes. While laughing, we forget our worries and disasters. So i feel that laughing is also one of the medicine for health.

I do not necessarily seek out jokes on myLot, as I have a husband who constantly shares humor with me. I need to lighten up. On the other hand, I just posted in another discussion, being on myLot has boosted my mood through out the winter, and I am really grateful for that. It takes me out of myself. I do read some of the humor, and yes, I do laugh, chortle, giggle, snort and guffaw from time to time, and promptly share it with my humor loving hubby. Right now my kitchen is not funny, but it is calling me. I would much rather be here with my friends and play.

I am one of those people who gets a great kick out of reading peoples humour here. I saw one post where a person asked "How do you like your lobsters" and the response was "As pets". I know the person who posted it probably knew that they wouldn't be paid for their response but just couldn't resist the funny answer. Sometimes if a response if long and funny, I will even print it out to share it with my family members. I would be lost without the humour on myLot.

Oh monkeywriter, there is really nothing wrong in laughing at our own stupidity. I tend to hide my own laughter when face with the same situation as yours. But I will still laugh only with a little discretion. Cheer up and keep laughing. :)

I laugh at myself quite often. And I do laugh out loud while reading some threads here in myLot. As you say, some people here have a great sense of humour:) For me being able to laugh, at anything at all, is a sign that I"m still ok. It's when I find it difficult to even smile that I worry. I find that if I can laugh or even smile at something, some situation even when it's a complicated one, then everything is ok, I'll be able to sail that storm.

I know mylot makes me laugh, and sometimes I read these posts and think WTH???? I try to be goofy sometimes on mylot, but I start to wonder if someone thinks I am being rude. I have a very sarcastic personality. I don't "mean" it. Just happens :P but yeah, I find myself laughing at the PC on occasion :)

Most of the time I laugh at myself... I'm even laughing when i'm alone and remembered something that happened to me that is hilarious... yeah... pretty relaxing. But the greatest feeling is when you made somebody laugh... ahhhhhh....seeing the smile on somebody's face is heaven to me.

This is nice discussion. I did that very often. When reading discussion in this mylot, but also in other forum too. I joined a forum that tell jokes to other member, and that made me laughed by myself. Usually my mom would come to my room and asked "Are you being crazy again ? Why are you laughing at ?" and i told her the joke or show her some respond in mylot, and she will laugh it with me. It was good feeling after that, you felt like you've lift your burden for a day.

Yes I have found myself laughing at a lot of things on here and it does brighten my Days at some of the Responses but I have also cried at some Discussions, as I feel for the People, so I do both on here. I am a person that can laugh easily but if I am really down then nothing will snap me out of it. There is nothing that can lift me, it does not happen often I get like that but when I do it lasts a couple of Days.

I've found myself in tears of laughter in front of the PC before at some of the threads here lol. Quite frankly, my partner has said he's been worried at times because of the huge belly laughs I've had LOL. Laughter always helps me lighten up when I'm in a gloomy mood. Mylot is the best way I know how to laugh. Some of the threads are just downright hilarious. I laugh at so many silly jokes it's not even funny. And why not? I don't get those people who are serious all the time and don't laugh. They must be real grouches.

LOL, I know what you're saying here. Its incredible to even laugh at those silly jokes when there's really nothing funny at all. I guess we all like to laugh instead of turning sour. I hate seeing people without any sense of humor at all too. :)

I laugh at myself all the time. I can find humor in the darkest places. And I find myself laughing hard in front of my computer after reading chat messages, posts, and discussions. And since I live alone, I can laugh as hard as I can without anyone looking at me like I've just gone bonkers. Unless the neighbors have heard me.
