In an article in our sunday paper, I read about a special-occasion handbag covered in fresh flowers! They could be hydrangeas or orchids, cactus or roses. The purses are given as gifts for one-of-a-kind special occasions like Mothers' Day. The bags come from Daily Blossom, a New York based shop run by Saundra Parks. They can be shipped outside of NYC and they would need 3-4 days to a weeks notice for the order. Prices start at $300. For the lady who has everything! LOL! Can you imagine? What I can't imagine, is the time it would take to tack on all of those fresh flowers!

While I find the purse absolutely gorgeous, I also see it as way too expensive! Wouldn't that be great for prom, Mother's Day, Easter and other occassions? But alas, too expensive for most budgets! I guess most of us will have to settle for the old-fashioned corsage! ha!

First, I would never spend that much on a purse. Second, I'm not into flowers. And third: the bees following me around would be far too aggravating!

That is an interesting look. I would be willing to bet it could be copied in silk flowers and used for a spring purse for the whole season. Floral designers are some very creative people, I admire them a lot. The purse is very pretty.

That is a good idea. I'll bet you could use some of the softer silk flowers and make a really pretty purse!

Wow - I can sure think of a lot better things I could do with $300 than put it into the purchase of a purse I'd only be able to use one time - unless of course you were to 'dry' the flowers after. As long as you didn't touch it the flowers may stay intact... This is just rediculous with all the starving people in the world, it's crazy.

You haven't seen the Parade of Roses on TV? It takes weeks to tack on fresh flowers to the floats.

That's true...hadn't even thought of that. I always thought the floats were so pretty and imaginative, but I wasn't paying for them! LOL

Saundra Parks? yes, I have heard of her; she is the entreprenuer with the flower shop. Ok, this is the thing I want to know; What happens when the flowers fade and stuff like that? that is not a practical thing to me.

That sounds like a very unique idea but an incredible waste of money. I would never want anything like that because I know the money could be used better a million different ways. Besides that, my kids would pick all the flowers off anyway! lol

I know it sounds like a big waste of money to me. I can think of alot of other things to do with $300.00 dollars.

No thank you. Give me the actual plant or no flowers at all. Told hubby that when he gave me a dozen roses back when we were dating. Told him from now on, he wants to give me flowers, better be still attached to their roots. lol

I do not find that appealing at all! I would be too afraid of smooshing the blossoms if I were to actually use the purse. I think I would much rather take that 300 dollars and have a garden planted. :)

I do not practice the tradition of buying gifts for a special occasion. I just find that the occasions have become so commercialised that I am put off and raise doubts on the sincerity of the giver. Are they really sincere about giving the gift or are they giving only because it is an occasion and everybody is doing it? And giving gifts on ocassions are really expensive. A gift usual price $5 can become $50 overnight just for the special occasion. And to pay $300 for some fresh flowers, no way I am paying. LOL.
