there are times when i prefer eating using my hands than my spoon and fork. whenever we'd have picnic at our backyard and our viand is fried fish or grilled fish and we have tomatoes on the side, i'd prefer eating it using my hands. i could eat more because i am enjoying and i am comfortable eating. do you think it's okay to eat using hands than spoon and fork? have you tried this? did you enjoy and would want to try doing it again?

dear gwen, thats a very question that you have asked. in the east of the world, it was a practice to eat with the hands, but then the influence of the europas and the americas, the practice is slowly dwindling. i come from india and we eat with our hands. the taste of food is completely different when you eat with your hands. when u use the spoon and fork, the metal taste lingers on your tongue, but that doesnt happen when you use the hands. and dont forget, when man was created, the divine never thought of spoons and fork, but only hands. it was only man's intelligence that made him use the implements. i alwayz encourage people and now i encourage you too, to eat with your hands, the natural way the food should be eaten. mike the lil smiley devil

There are some foods that I use my hands to eat with. Pizza being the most common but I also use my hands for hamburgers, chicken wings, and such. There are a number of foods. We noramlly like to take finger foods on picnics because its easier.

Malay peoples originally eat using their right hand, but in modern life some of the Malay peoples using spoon and fork when they eat. In my house, most of the time we eat using our hand. Only to some of the dish we use spoon to eat them. I personally feel that my food even more tasty when I am eating them using my hand. Like eating plain rice with the other dish, I bet you will need your hand to feel the real taste of them. I really enjoy my food by eating them using my hand.

Yes, I like using bare hands for eating 'pica-pica' or finger foods, and when I'm in the beach with grilled food around like fish, pork and other seafoods. The beach picnic/party gets us in the mood to eat that way and it's surprising that the food becomes even more palatable and you tend to eat more. I don't do it though, on the table except when eating crabs. But I've learned to eat crabs using spoon and fork would you believe? That's because I don't like the smell that lingers on my hands even after washing. I would eat again with my hands the next time I go beach partying. It's real fun! Everyone should try it :)

One of the most remarkable Filipino trademark is using hands while eating... I enjoy using my right hand when I was just at home, with any of these viands: fried eggplant, grilled tilapia, breaded pork chop. steamed veggies with toyo-mansi dip or with barrio fiesta sweet bagoong. But I make sure that I washed my hands properly before eating.

Sure, I usually using my hand if I've trouble using with spoon and fork. And it's more enjoy. I also eat rice with hand if I have to, usually with fried fish / fried chicken and chili.

Pshaw! That's nothing. Have you tried eating RICE with your bare hands? I do it everyday, though never in public. It's not that I don't know how to use a spoon and fork. It' just that I'm more comfortable using them. If I use my hands when eating rice, can rice be classified as finger foods?
