The best thing that has ever happened to me started in 1972 and it has taken up until three years ago to be complete. In case you haven't guessed and because I'm itching to tell you. I had my one and only child born in September of 1972 and I wanted a girl so badly, and that turned into an answered prayer. My daughter and son-in-law have blessed me with two of the nicest grandchildren any grandma would want. They tell me their family is complete having had a boy then a girl.

That is really great to hear. I was born in 1971. The greatest thing that ever happened to me was, when I met my husband, he had just gotten out of a nasty divorce. I was a single mom with a 9 month old baby. The father of my child did not want anything to do with her at all. I wanted a boy so I could raise him to treat women right, but I had a girl instead. I prayed to God to give me a beautiful girl since that is what he blessed me with. I do have a beautiful daughter and she is now 15 years old. My husband came in our lives when she was 9 months old and we have all been together ever since. I have been with my husband for 15 years and married for 12 of those. I am very thnkful that I didn't get stuck with my daughters real father. He is a total jerk and still has nothing to do with our daughter, but I could care less now.

WOW I can't even imagine what that would be like. I think this is something a person has to feel first hand to really know. Thank God he came home safe and back to you.

What a lovely story and thank you for sharing it with us. I can understand now where you got your myLot name. The best thing that ever happened to me was surviving a very serious illness which I had 11 years ago. It has made me realise how precious life is and that we shouldn't take things for granted.

It would probably be a tie between meeting and marrying my wife and the birth of both of my kids. I hope I can stick around long enough to be a grandpa.

Oh for your sake I hope so too. There is no greater love than the love for your kids. I found having grandchildren is like having your own only way more fun and way less responsibilities. I love it !!! You gave me a good feeling to day of men to be able to say meeting and marrying your wife was part of your answer. Best Wishes Always.

I think my mum would probably agree with you! She wasnt over the moon when she found out i was pregnant however now she is completely smitten with my daughter, her eyes fill up everytime she does something new. I thought she was going to explode with pride when my daughter walked to her for the first time. And of course my personal best experience was having my daughter, i wouldnt be without her now, even though it was the most painful thing in the world!! I hope you continue to have many happy years as a family :) amy x

All my life I wanted a daughter but had a son. My son also has a son, but not daughter. You are lucky. The best thing that ever happened to be, now that is also hard to say, I would say my current fiance, he has been so good to me over the years, that I do not know what I would ever have done without him.

thank you for best response, no wedding bells in the future plans, we don't live together because of different obligations. But we are as close as close can be.

The best thing that ever happened to me was when I met up with one my real sister as I was adopted out as a baby and so had never met my real family and we when we meet everything then was completed as I knew I was adopted and had tried to find my real family and looked up my mother maiden name in the phone book and phoned him but did not want to go and see him but I asked about other family members and he told me so I was very thankful when this happened to me and since then we have stayed in contact and are extremely close now with my real family and they never want to lose me again.

While I very much love my husband and our brood of children - I would say the best thing to happen to me is actually being given the gift of faith. If I were to lose my entire family, I would still have my faith to see me through. It is my foundation, everything else is built off of it - somethings a lot sweeter than others.

I can't chose between two things! The 2 best things that ever happened to me were marrying my hubby last March after being together for 6 years, and the birth of my daughter last June.

the best thing that has ever happened to me is that i went to school and met the friends i have now, they are great fun to be with and life would have been dull without them, not only do they have agreat sense of hmour but we also all like football and meet up regularly, so in the 16 years i have been on this planet something compulsory is the best thing that has happened to me.

For me, so far, it would have to be getting married. It set in motion a whole new future for both of us. A future that includes teamwork, starting a farm, starting a family, and being best friends for the rest of our lives. Without him, there are so many things I never would have been able to do, and so many things my future would NOT hold. So it was the biggest turning point and he will always be the best thing that ever happened to me.

The birth of my children! They have all grown into fine adults. Taking a back seat and now watching them succeed in their chosen roles in life. I was happy that they are well and healthy. I never really wanted much else when I knew my responsibilities changed. Sure it has been tempered by some pretty horrendous stuff but that's a different discussion.

One of the best things that has happened to me was finding my girlfriend, whom I love very much. Before I met her I was doing things that I shouldn't have been doing, and getting myself into a lot of trouble with things, so thanks to her I have been set straight :)
