Puppies

A client brought a litter of golden retriever puppies to my veterinary clinic for inoculations and worming.
As the look-alike pups squirmed over and under one another in their box, I realized it would be difficult to tell the treated ones from the rest. So, I turned on the water faucet, wet my fingers, and moistened each dog's head when I had finished.
After the fourth puppy, I noticed my talkative client had grown silent. As I sprinkled the last pup's head, the woman leaned forward and whispered, "I didn't know they had to be baptized, too."

Oh how funny! That is one of those classic work stories, isn't it? What did you say to her?
I almost want to ask if she was as blond as her dogs, but that is colorist, I suppose!

I agree its funny - so funny I had to share it with all of my friends. Fact is, I know people that dense! I've heard my vet tech tell me when I had a upper respeatory infection going thru my cats, that at least I got my cats the shots, one of their clients didn't & lost several to a URI. Well, duh, you want your 16 yr old cat or you 16 week old kitten to survive something like that you get them their shots - why do you think the vet has them?

I always take my dog to the vet every year also. I have a Pomeranian that I have had for 9 years now. He always gets his shots every year also. I bet it was very hard to keep the puppies separated as you treated each one. I would have never thought about getting their little heads wet to tell them apart. that was a pretty clever idea. I cannot believe that poor lady didn't know you were just trying to tell which puppies you had treated. That is so funny that she thought those little puppies were getting batised. That is too cute. Was she happy about that or did she act concerned, laugh out loud?

hahahahaha. i love your client. she is so very observant of the things that you do to the pets that you are treating. now, she knows that baby animals will have to be baptized, too. she has additional knowledge about taking care of pets! oh, how good must it feel to have so many puppies to be touching all at once.
