Nice topic. I would say I am a little strict, but my husband is even stricter. He is one of those parents that believe children should be seen and not heard. Drives me crazy! I give my kids room to be kids but with boundries.

I believe that I am a structured parent. I allow my children so much freedom to be creative but I don't allow them to go over the top. You have to set limits on your childs creativity. Like not allowing them to draw on the walls. I don't want to stifle them but I do want them to know that there are limits.

My father is a very strict father though he loves his children. He keeps appointing out his children's mistakes and faults in doing different kinds of thing. We are afraid of our father and dare not keep close to him in our life though we love him too. I don't want to treat my own child as my father does to us. When I have a daughter, I tried to be nice to her all the time. I seldom criticized her, let alone scold her or treat her voilently. She had some difficulty in study, so I often encouraged her in her study with good examples around her. I always thought I was a good mother until one day she told a friend of mine that it was me who brought all the frustrations in her life.
