What have you done?

I've had many jobs throughout my life. I've been a driveway attendant in the days when the operator pumped your gas, checked your battery and oil, checked your tyres and cleaned your windscreen...in the good old days. I've run a pre-schooler's play group, demonstrated sewing machines for sale, sold beautiful fabris, sold Nutrimetics, Amway and Mary Kay, collected the Census, managed bookshops, had my own cafe/takeaway chicken shop and qualified as a phlebotomist...(venipuncturist)...(pathology specimen collector). I'm back to pumping gas. What different jobs have you had....not parenthood, I mean paid jobs?

Of course it's counted! make sure you put it on your resume or CV. I'm so amazed how many people have had so many varied jobs. I thought I was a bit strange...I'm normal....YAY!!

While I was in college, I worked as a typist and as an assistant to the school psychometrician. Then I took some sideline jobs selling tupperware and beauty products. After graduation and having earned an engineering degree and license, I worked in an engineering firm as a junior civil engineer - designer and estimator. I got a job in a company selling fire fighting products because of the promise of higher earnings. It did not prove to be so. I taught in a university at the college of engineering and after two years left it for a chance to work for the government at the Department of Public Works and Highways, I moved to another government agency after a year this time with the country's socio-economic planning arm. I now hold my last job as a farmer and a caretaker of my sick son.

You've certainly had some changes. I hope everything is going well for you. I know how difficult farming can be and caring for a son who is unwell must have it's moments as well.

I have been a newspaper boy, supermarket cashier and bag boy, helped with getting Boscovs ready to open, worked at McDonalds, worked as a credit analyst at two different banks and am now a business technology instructor. I have done numerous jobs over the years with my current one being my favorite job. It sounds like you have had some interesting jobs. :-)

Those were really a lot. Okey let me check mine. I started when I was in College where I sold a lot of different goods to my classmates and batchmates then during summer I applied as a Korean tutor for a 4 year old child. Then as a handicraft maker then an office assistant. Then when I graduated from College, that was when my formal employment started. My first formal job was in a bank then in a Software Company then in a manufacturing company then contact center. Well, now I'm back home. I have no choice I have to take care of the kids. I'll probably be back soon to the world of job hunting. Hopefully, it won't be a hard task for me.

Lets see! I was a Dunkin Donut girl, a cashier at McDonalds, a waitress/hostess at a chinese restaurant, a security guard then eventually supervisor at Anheuser Busch Brewery in Tampa before they closed, an Administrative Assistant for several different companies, a Transportation and Sales Assistant for a bathtub company, and most recent I was a Operations Manager/Dispatcher for a trucking brokerage firm. Now I just got hired for a part time job being a consignment clerk.

I've had quite a few also. Fresh out of high school I started working as a service station attendant, then I went to work in a saw mill. Then I went to work at a box company where I nailed wooden boxes together, I've assembled widow blinds, been a janitor for a health club, assembled furniture frames and wooden crates for shipping expensive machines around the world. And now I work in a foam plant where I've been for 15 years and made my way to supervisor. Take care!

Ok, not to argue but isn't parenting a paying job? You get paid with hugs and kisses. And the childs love. There have been a few different jobs in my life. I have been a bread baker, a donut maker, a cashier at store, a manager of a gas station, a sandwhich maker, and I have worked in a factory setting doing different things.

Well, parenthood is certainly a job, but I get what you are saying. I worked my way through college as a car hop at a drive-in theatre (remember them?). I also worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for a number of years. I worked as an office manager and when I became a mom I worked at home with my own word processing business. I've also taught and run a mommy and me program and worked for my kids' school district in a number of capacities ranging from lunch monitor to secretary. I've also babysat in my home periodically (my least favorite job) and now I teach computers to pre-schoolers. I just became certified as a Reiki healer and I hope to become a life coach in the near future.

Well I started out after high school as a library assistant, then studied part time and gained my Library and Information Studies Certificate, then was promoted to 3 different senior level positions within a span of 10 years. I also worked part time as a bar attendant in the evenings and weekends, moved to another country, worked several office positions for a Non Government Organisation, then ended up as a Senior Admin Officer for a Development Bank. Since we arrived in USA, I am now a full time stay at home mom, and believe you me, this is a full time job and I do get an allowance for taking care of my son and our household :)

Me too, Let's see. Working backwards. Theatre Manager. Call Center Tech agent, Research assistant, Video store owner, Pub Manager, Waiter, Topless waiter (first got hired for ladies nights, now that was a job for a 22 year old!), Taxi Driver, Member of the armed forces, theater manager (I came full circle), then all my part-time jobs as a teen. Hmm do you think I get bored too easily?
