I decided to start this thread to help mylot newbies, or other mylotters that are looking to get more responses or feel their earnings are not where they should be. Please experienced mylotters, add to these tips, if I have forgotten any or you have something to add to these tips. 1. Reply to 10 to 15 times as many discussions as you start. 2. When replying make sure your comments are descriptive. 3. When starting a discussion make sure you give as many details as possible, you are more likey to recieve responses. 4. Rate everything you read, everyone who response to your discussions. 5. Mark your best response. Don't always give it to the first person who responses. (I give it a week, most of the time, before I will go and mark Best Response, so mylotter's won't post if it is already marked.) 6. Tag your discussions, it is important, and are earnings increase when we tag discussions. 7. Add Pictures to your discussions when ever you have something relavant to a topic. 8. Rate pictures if they are added and comment on them also. These are the things I try to do daily. I always rate every response that I get. Sometimes I may be away from my computer so it don't get rated right away, but as soon as I get back to my computer, I see who has replied. I also try to reply to everyone that leaves a comment, sometimes people say the same thing but in some what a different way, so I don't leave a comment. But I always try to find something to say back to who ever took the time to leave a comment. When I made a plan to increase my earnings and stuck to it, I saw that my earnings per post increase. I also saw an increase in replies to my posts. I hope this can help somebody out there. Hope you enjoy mylot as much as I do. Good luck to you all. Here is my last tip. Don't leave one or two liners for a start of a discussion or in reply, it is really a waste of time. You can post 100 one liners, and earn as much as 10 quality discriptive posts.

This is a good idea, it can be very daunting for someone who comes in for the first time, I know I didn't know what I was doing and seeing as all these sites are all run differently it is a great help to the newby and it puts them on the right track right from the start, good on you....

I always take time to respond to a few new user discussions everyday, and I keep seeing the same types of questions or complaints. I have shared theses tips over and over and decided and I tired of repeating myself, and decided maybe if I took an step, others would also in helping all the new users. Come on experienced mylotters give up your tips on how to max out your earnings. Oh yeah, I also try to get referrals. I have gotten a few, not many. But hey every penny adds up.

Thanks a lot for the detailed tips! I am here for around 2 weeks and I am enjoying myself at mylot so much, I even find it addictive (I just have to get on everyday). I usually reply to people's discussions more than starting my own. From your experience, do you think I will earn a bit more if I start more discussions? I do rate everything I read, even sometimes I don't have anything to say in that particular discussion.

It doesn't really matter if you are starting the discussions or responding to them. The main thing is being descriptive. Finding ways to use words to make your response, longer but also well thought out. I try to start one or two discussion per day, but sometimes I find that hard to do. I have to be inspired to write most of the time, so answering others questions in the most descriptive manner is what I find works best for me.

I am like you Avon1. I try to start at least one or two discussions per day but some days all I do is respond to other discussions. Either way it is a lot of fun and I enjoy doing it.

Sorry about the double post. It hanged when I posted the first reply and I had to type again for the second one. Apologize for the double posting!

Thank you so much for that advice. I think one of my problems is that I tend to post one or two liners. I will try to answer fewer posts and be more descriptive and...see what happens.

urbangirl, let me know, how much the tips increase your earnings. I know that using these tips has increased my earnings about 2 to 4 cents a post.I am now working or referrals. I want to get 100 active referrals making themselves a $1.00 per day, because you make 25% of their earnings here, and logically if you have 100 people making themselves a $1.00 a day, they will make the referral $25.

Thanks avonrep1, after reading your point n tip for mylot newbies, it did give ideas how I should post my discussion. Sometimes when you post a new discussion, but nobody reply you. You really feel dishearted. Mostly when I post a discussion I get 1 to 2 reply & my discussion will push to pages 3 or 4 so nobody will really notice that you posted something. thank for reading...

Just keep posting and keep your head up, people will read what you write, as you read and respond to their's. Just keep writing and you will see, that you will have replies coming out of your ears before too long.

This was really nice of you to do. Will you please add a link to more info (or add some advice) about uploading pictures? It's great to make money online and especially in an interesting forum such as this. I'm really glad I found mylot.com. It's really cool that people are so nice. Thanks again for the tips.

On adding pictures you can add them as a newbie when starting a discussion, you can add them to your replies to other's discussions after you reach 500. Mylot does this to prevent misuse of the system. They want quality discussions and relivant pictures. Hope this helps. I have a list of sites, that I have recieved payment from, that I have tested and really pay. If anyone wants links to them message me and I will send you the links through a message. I don't want to violate mylot rules, by posting links.

Thanks. That does help. So, is IS okay to exchange links via PM? I didn't know if I should suggest it or if it was an offense. See, now I learned something else. Thanks!

In this case, I felt as if you had said it all, and there wasn't much more to say. You pretty much have it covered. I have a trick under my sleeve that I'm trying to get to work. As soon as it works, I'll add it as a tip. Of course, that won't be for awhile because I'm going to be gone for the next six days and five nights to get some much-needed R&R!

Wow I am really surpised you didn't have a tip or two to add here also. I think this is the shortest response I have ever seen you leave. I do that too, every so often, just to throw everyone off who knows I am long winded. LOL

avonrep1, you have done a good job by listing these tips for the newbies. Actually it is helpful for some seniors also. I would like to add one point to the tips. That is about the interest groups. Before starting a discussion it is better if we choose the suitable interest group to which the subject matter under discussion is relevant. This help to attract more members and resultantly more responses. One of my friends in myLot gave this advice as part of her response to another discussion. I found it was missing here and thought to add up. To the new mwmbers. I am also a junior in myLot. But from my experience in myLot I can say that this is a very nice place, where we find out new people, develop new friendships, create meaningful discussions, participate in others discussions, rate postings, upload pictures,,, what a fun! Then we get some monetary insentive also. Isn't it great?

Thank you abroji, I knew I was forgetting something. Interest groups. Thank you for adding this. It was needed, I can't tell you how many times I come across something that is not in its proper place. I knew I was forgetting something. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for this tips. I will keep this mind and hope that all the newbies would also learn from this tips. It actually took me some time to find a way to put my avatar here. But I know eventually I will get the hang of it. Looking at the posts I know that I will stick around here and will have fun. I look forward to the great conversations and activities here in mylot.

Thank you very much for the tips. I have been on mylot for a little over a month and although i have learned alot i have so much more to learn. I do want to grow this to a point that i can actually depend on my earnings here to be part of my family income so i can be a little more of a stay at home mom and less out in the field working. All the success i have had on mylot so far i owe to people like you willing to lend a hand to help me understand what i should be doing here on mylot. Many thanks again i really appreciate anything that you can share with me to inrich my mylot experience.

Thanks for the tips. as a newbie, I appreciate your tips so much. I have tried my best to be more descriptive as possible in every of my response and i can see my earnings are increasing day by day. :) lots of referral make the difference too. so, try to find more referral. im just wondering how do we get the star with numbers and what does it represent? :)

You get the star as you to to 100. If you ever are on the wrong side of a discussion, and it is heated, it can go down because of one vendictive person. I really don't take to much stalk in it myself, because I a Pagan and apparently that offends people on here but I don't care. I have my rights to believe what I do, as they have to their beliefs. I don't rate a - unless people respond with oneliners.

I appreciate the great information that you have provided for newbies like myself. I especially like items 1-3 where you tell about replying to 15 times more discussions than you create as well the giving details as much as possible. I have been a member of several forums and groups and know what you mean about being not responding to one liners. I too think many of them are simple waste of time and effort as far as I am concerned. I want to be able to make the most of this community and help myself to earn as well as learn things that I may not have known. Thank you so very much for supplying the mylotters with a ton of useful information.
