Snow.

Yesterday afternoon, when I left to go to work, it was raining a little. By the time I got to work, about 30 minutes later, it was getting ready to snow. I saw the snow coming down about an hour later. It looked nice and clean as it blanketed the ground and trees. It started coming down really thick and fluffy about another 30 minutes later. The temperature dropped into the high 20's. It came down very heavily for several hours. When I left work about 10:20 P.M. it was still coming down quite heavily. Depending on which TV station you listen to, it would appear that we got between 7 and 10 inches of snow. When we got up this morning the temperature was in the 40's and all my lovely snow was melting. If I had just got here I never would have known that there had been anywhere near that much. Is this just freaky weather, or has winter followed me from Yooper Country to Kansas? Does anyone have a comment?

Awww poor you! Winter just follows you around, eh? Wow that would seem like quite a bit of snow for this time of year. (Of course I have more, but what do you expect there?) Anyway, I hope you get spring soon there! I keep thinking we're done with snow here too, and then it just shows up again. Darn white stuff. =p

It sure sounds like it! Are you sure you're not really a Yeti or something? =p

I understand, from what I have read, that Yeti smell pretty nasty. I shower at least daily, so I don't think I smell like a Yeti. I understand, also, that the Yeti have HUGE FEET. My understanding is that with just size 12 shoe size, I probably don't qualify on that count, either. It could be that the Yeti have been getting more domesticated, which would make it quite possible that I am just one that has adapted to life in this world. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this subject?

Haha! Well, I suppose you must not be a Yeti then. So much for that theory!

We were supposted to have storm and a cold front. So far nothing has happened byt the temperature was 72F an hour ago then down to 60F , now it is back up to 74F. Really strange things are happening with our weather.

Are you in New England? Remember what Mark Twain said about New England weather. "If you don't like New England weather, wait a minute...It'll change."

That sounds like the pattern our late springs have been taking for a few years now. I love the look of the big fat fluffy flakes as they fall. It sounds like you lucked out and did not have to shovel the snow, just drive in it. Happy Spring.

its freaky weather everywhere. In south eastern VA we hardly get any snow even in january when that is the most likely time to get it. To get a snow storm in april is just plain weird and we even had enough that it started to lay on the ground some.

Check out the first response to this discussion. That responder says that they are in Virginia, too. Maybe you know each other.

The weather has been weird where Im living too. I live on the east coast and we have a front that just came in this morning and its going to last for several days now. We will have high winds and dropping tempteratures. I mean come on we are suppose to be having springtime.

I heard on the Weather Channel that The Boston Marathon is in jeopardy of being canceled. I think that would be a first.

Bring that snow to VA please :-) It has been raining off and on and more rain tomorrow, but no SNOW in sight. We had about 2 inches the day before easter and that is it for the whole winter time. Isn't it spring time?? Crazy weather. I live in VA Beach and it's very rare that it snows here. I moved here a year ago from PA and I loved it up there when we would get 15 inches of snow. Now granted, I didn't work outside the house so I didn't mind the snow. My husband hated it though. Snow is beautiful to me. :-)

Maybe you need to get a little farther away from the water. I understand your plight. When the US Army sent me to Fort Gordon, Georgia I could not stand it when it got to be November and the temperatures were in the 70's and up. A hick kid from waaaaaaaaaay up north just could not get used to it. Unfortunately, for you, my wife and I are not ready to move to Virginia. Sorry.
