I'm not very imaginative when it comes to cat's names. I do have one cat, though, that has such a loud purr I have nicknamed him "Evinrude" after a boat motor. (His real name is Buddy.) I'd like to hear what others have named their cats.

Sangor is very original. How do your cats know which Sangor you are calling?

I am not creative with names. I name them for moods or personalities. The one newest is called sweetie pie big trouble. She is the sweetiest animal, and into trouble constantly. Told you I wasn't good at it, but, she comes when I call her, so that's good.

We had a Sweetie Pie for 10 years. You and I think along the same lines when it comes to names.

LOL I have one that we renamed Motorhead for the very same reason!! Last year in early May, I took in two cats that the owners could not take to their new house. It was only temperary. We got them home and we realized that we know Blue's name, but not the other cat's. I had bought her a collar on the way home, and it was red. The collar on Blue was blue so we called her Red. I got a hold of the owner a few days after, and found that the names were Baloo, like the bear, and that Red's name was actually Nuisance. We call her Red! They will be getting her back in a month or two. When they get moved and settled in there new place. Baloo got ran over the first month here. We did not even know he had slipped out.

That is sad about Baloo. Nuisance is a cute name. They are sometimes! (But not often)

Our cat's name is Rain--or actually Rainy Day Kitty to be exact. Last October in the cold rain she came darting out from under my car. We had never seen her before. The next day, she came up on my porch and snuggled in one of the chairs with my gardening gloves and a towel I used for cleaning the grill. She stayed there most of the day, except to wander over to my door occasionally and meow to be let in. When my husband got home from work, she jumped down from the chair and met him at the top of the stairs, rubbing against his ankles. That was all it took. She won him over. Turns out she was pretty sick. The other local strays had beaten her up and she had an abcess on her back, but she got better and now she's my RDK...or sometimes, I call her Killer because she likes to hunt crickets in the basement.

Thanks for rescuing her. I rescued two myself. There are so many out there that need love and shelter. Wish I could adopt them all, but then we all would have no place to live.:)

We have one that is named Cricket. When he was little he hopped like one but he doesn't purr, he chirps. I know and he does that still. He sounds really cute when he does it. The name really fits with him believe me.

My lovely cat is named Moomin, after a childrens' television programme from way back. She is a real character, she walked into my life last summer as a stray cat and is a very much loved mog.

I guess our cat's name is considered unusual by some people. It's "Pizzicato". It's a musical term, and my entire family is all musicians, so that's why we came up with it. lol

That is unusual. I like it a lot. I'd probably wind up calling the cat Pizzi for short!

My cats names are funny tidbits. They were all abandoned by their mom's, who are feral cats I feed outside. I bottle fed them all. The first one, Feelow, was named because my husband called him little fellow, but then made it sing-songish and it started sounding like Feelow. I told him that since he heard that so much, we may as well name him that. The second one is Girlie..I know real unique. She came to us with no tail, very infected. She was either attacked or caught in a car. We healed her and everytime I went out to our spare room, I used to call that name out. It stuck. My next girl is Mia, just because she's very calm and I like that name. Lastly, but definitely NOT least....my young make is Bubba. After bottle feeding him for longer than any other kitten, I feel like I gave birth to him....lol. At 6 months old, he always tried to nibble my fingers and so I tried to see if he wanted to nurse and stuck my finger in his mouth and he actually started sucking!!! It was the cutest thing. Now when he's tired, he comes to me for that still and he's almost a yr. old. He wraps his paws around my neck like a little kid. When I try to put him down, he grabs tighter. I love Bubba so much! He's all white with a black tail that has a white puff on the end, a black toupee on his head, and blue eyes. His fur isn't long hair, but not short hair. He feels like a teddy bear. :)

My cats name is corvette, that is because my son loves corvettes. We let him name our cat. I once had a cat that I got for Christmas I named her Angel. I also had a cat when I as a kid, His name was Trouble and the name speaks for itself.

hey susieq223, I have a cat that I have named psycho. She goes completely nuts at times running around bouncing off walls and the couches or anything that happens to get in her way, including us! LOL. We have 5 grown cats and 5 kittens now and they all have names according to their personalities. Babycat, Blackjack, smokey, tiger and of course psycho being the strangest name of them all.

I have three cats and all they have a particular name. First one calls "Birba" because it combines only troubles; the second calls "Ziggie" and it is also a particular cat being totally black,it exclusively loses hair of white color ( this type of cats is called " blach smokers" ) The bystander calls "mousy" because she is grey as a mouse.

I have a cat and he looks a lot like the pic of your cat.He is 3 years old and he has no tail,I think they call that a manx...I got him from my daughter as a baby...She had already named him because of a spot he had on his nose and because he had no tail...She named him "Spotno" anyway my husband did not think that was a proper name so he renamed him"Thomas" but he will come to either name....We had him nurtered and had his front claws removed he is just a big fat house cat that is spoiled rotten...I gave my sister a kitten and she named him "whitesocks" cause he has white feet but he is solid black...
