rover41 If there is an accelerator pump somewhere, similar to the one on a carburetor, it is possible that the rubber valve or washer is faulty.I am not familiar with injector systems so this is a guess.

In the fuel pump, is there a shaft which moves back and forth from the cylinder head and which presses the spring loaded mechanism in the pump? How long is the shaft and where does it fit?
