scribe1 Sometimes older cats have health issues with their eyes, teeth or stomach or liver. You might want to have your cat checked out by the vet. Other than that, an older cat just isn't into playing a lot.

scribe1 To be honest, I wouldn't play with such an item. There is just no telling what kind of negative forces or energies you would attract by doing so. My parents used to own one a long time ago, but did not allow me to play with it. Then as I got older, I learned...

Do cats really have nine lives?

adutza @adutza (39) • Romania 11 Jul 08

I have a friend who's cat fell from third floor, had a difficile operation, and survived:D and it is very happy and active and I'm glad for her. Do you think that cats manage to survive because of their nine lives?

2 responses

scribe1 Nah, although I do think that cats happen to be very intelligent, except for their insistence on crossing busy streets. They seem to sense when their master is coming home, when they are going to be fed, among other things. They also develop an attachment to...

Have you ever stepped on your cat in the dark?

beautyqueen26 @beautyqueen26 (16030) • United States 10 Jul 08

Last night, I had to get out of bed for a few minutes and as my feet were about to touch the floor, I felt a really odd furry sensation under my toes. Turns out my cat was laying on the ground right next to my bed. I...

scribe1 I've actually walked into my cat, Columbus, a few times. I didn't mean to do that and apologized and try to kiss him to show him how sorry I was. The problem is that he's so dark that I can't see him in the dark and/or realize that he's right next to my feet.

Have you ever met a really mean cat?

beautyqueen26 @beautyqueen26 (16030) • United States 6 Jul 08

I've only known one really mean cat in my life. He belonged to a friend of mine. Actually she was my best friend and we were close as sisters. He was one of the meanest cats I've ever known. Not sure why he had such a...

scribe1 I almost did, a few months ago. The cat in question, named Marlo, was a great big orange tabby who lived with his master for 9 years. His master became disabled from a motorcycle accident and was forced to give Marlo up. So I agreed to take Marlo in. The first...

As promised to my friends - an update on Lily 3 months after.

rosie_123 @rosie_123 (6113) 1 Jul 07

Over the past weeks I've received many PMs and enquiries as to how Lily has been coping since we got her home 4 weeks ago. I didn't want to write too much about her because I was worried people would be bored with her, but just...

Life after death?

yaksters @yaksters (79) • United States 2 Jul 08

Is there life after death? I say there is, and I believe that I have proof. In the first part of April of this year, my doorbell began to ring when nobody was there. My television would go on and off. The volume would change. It...

Cat bully.

yaksters @yaksters (79) • United States 2 Jul 08

I have one cat that likes to bully my other two cats. I have found if I catch him in the act and pin him down to the floor and hold him there for a few minutes, it seems to defuse the aggression he has towards the other two cats....

scribe1 My Mimi cat is a perennial grouch and growls at my other calico Waffles and a recently-adopted stray, Maxie. If I tried to do anything to her, she'd bite me, so I let the other two cats deal with her. I also hang around for a few minutes and supervise them...

scribe1 My Waffles hid in the basement. She used to hide in an old stinky couch that was in the sunporch, but I had that couch taken out and destroyed two weeks ago. And my Mimi hides in the closet. My two male cats, Maxie and Columbus, take storms in strike, thank...

When your cat demands to be petted and loved

beeeckie @beeeckie (802) • United States 27 Jun 08

Do you give in? I'm talking about when they get ALL sorts of cute, doing upside-down kitty faces and stretchy arms and wiggling back and forth, and even if you're busy it's impossible to resist the force of their cuteness?

scribe1 How can I resist? Waffles cat does that to me when I'm trying to sleep, even after I pet her and give her a good-night kiss.

When you are called by telemarketers, do you find it hard to hang up? Does it make you feel rude to have to hand up on them?

scribe1 I used to curse them before hanging up. But now, I notice that automatic dialers are being used. For example, your phone rings and you answer it, but no one says anything. If you don't hang up right away, you'll hear a recorded message. I got so fed up with...

scribe1 Cinderella's advice is right on the money. Get one of those bottles used for baby dolls. The bottle is small enough with a nipple that the kitten can easily suck. We used to feed baby kittens this way and they all turned out fine! Best of luck to you!
