Idlewild I would hope so. I read a book called Preventing Alzheimer's a few years ago that talked about mental exercises as well as foods, etc. that are believed to help prevent the disease. I'm trying to use as many of the techniques as I can.

alchemistrx Thanks for the comment. I should have reword my post.There are missing information that I didn't post. The thing is my mother don't have Alzheimer's disease and you're right doing puzzles is a preventive measure for those who don't have the disease. Thanks..

Idlewild It's possible, but difficult. If raising a family is really important try to choose a medical specialty that has more manageable hours that won't have you working a zillion hours or on call all the time. I've heard of many med students who don't want the...

shamilton712 I think it is definitely possible. You just need a supportive significant other. My wife is in medical school and we have a little one. Just don't become a surgeon. Choose a specialty that will allow you to still have time for your family

alchemistrx I'm sure puzzles would help mentally old people with Alzheimer's disease.My mother does crossword puzzles everyday to help her not forget the words and their meanings.It's best that we expose them to things they should remember.
