I had a bit of a mixed opinion about it, as is often the case with this series.
Good mystery with several suspects, an unclear motive and a hint of danger. Not as impressed at the possible new love interest (I was hoping he would...

I don't use ground turkey often because of a bad experience with a pack I bought a few years ago that ended up having a lot of bones. However, I had some from Costco in my freezer and decided to go with that instead of ground...

I am two chapters in and still a bit undecided about it. The first 11 books in the series were a bit hit-or-miss. I loved some, didn't care for others and am waiting to see which category this one falls into.

It's her first one since she last modeled in May so she's excited but nervous. I am not looking forward to the drive though. It's very windy and there's always a risk of lake effect snow/crappy driving conditions.

This happened recently with my wife's side of the family. There was a death and people were posting about it not a couple hours after it happened. She found out about it that way at work.
Maybe it's just because I'm older, but...

My oldest daughter's freshman year of high school was a disaster, to the point we felt the only way for her to bounce back was to pull her from the school (which was about 50-60% of the problem) and home school her via a virtual...

Admittedly, I don't pay attention to the NFL (other than the Green Bay Packers) as much as I used to. But, every so often, something from another team catches my attention. And, in this case, it is the seemingly insane way the...

About a week ago, I helped get the lock off of the shed for our new neighbor (the previous homeowners left the shed locked but didn't leave the key). When she saw it was empty, she said we could have it if we wanted because she...

I was reading an article today about the game dodgeball and how some schools are banning it and researchers are describing it as something that "dehumanizes" and "oppresses" people.
Am I missing something here? Did they change the...

I decided to walk to the library this morning to get some more books. My path took me downtown and past a mural that was painted on one of the buildings a couple years ago. I never paid much attention to it before but, this time,...

OK, to be honest, I really don't care if I like the doctor. But, it would be nice to find one that at least fits my personality.
I haven't had a physical in nearly 4 years because of this struggle. I'm not a big fan of taking...

So far (knock on wood) I haven't had any serious health issues. But, I could stand to lose about 30 pounds. And, after my dad passed away last week, I realized I should make much more of an effort to do so, partly to make sure my...

This is actually something I started doing for my daughter when I packed her school lunch. I always slipped in a "fortune" like she'd have if she went out for Chinese food. Sometimes they had "real" advice. Other times, I'd just...

My wife and my two daughters flew out east yesterday so they could visit her side of the family (I stayed behind because, at the time we were making the plans/buying the tickets, my dad wasn't well and I figured it was best not to...

I, as a rule, don't judge a movie by its trailer to begin with. But, Netflix, in my opinion at least, just doesn't seem to get the point of a trailer/movie preview. Many of their trailers, especially of lesser-known movies, don't...

He had been sick for a while and this wasn't completely unexpected. However, after he defied doctors for the past 5 years, it was definitely surprising just how fast he faded. Monday, they were talking about getting him some rehab...

I came across this again last night, when my wife and I were watching a horror film on Netflix. The movie was decent up until toward the very end, when it just ended.
And, when I say ended, I mean it. The engaged couple that had...

My daughter and I have this discussion all the time whenever I end up listening to her music and try to explain to her a band that is considered "good" today might not have the same staying power as the "great" ones.
To me, a...

This is, of course, assuming you use a library but, when you go, do you go after a specific book or movie? Or maybe you have a favorite author?
For me, I kind of split things up a bit. I usually wind up getting 2 books at a time....

I am the recruitment chair for my oldest daughter's skating club and have been working to promote our summer ice skating session that is coming up as well as the BOGO (buy one, get one free) event associated with it.
As part of...
