Go Crossbones Its been like 75 plus since last rain storm. I think since fall we have had around 15 cold days for California standards. The rest has been all mid 70's to low 80's. I dread what summer looks like if its this warm already.

Wheee! Good steak costs about $30/lb here now. But I am a Safeway "member," and am able to get it for about $20/lb. I realized at some point that I will probably not outlive my savings, so I am buying steak whenever I want it....

Judy Evans @TheHorse Yes, I did. I read the book some years ago. If I remember rightly, the gelding fights a stallion towards the end which I don't believe is credible so that put me off a bit. That doesn't happen in the film.

There is something that happens here which I think doesn't happen in other countries..you go to the bank to withdraw, the cashier hands you your money..on checking the bills, you find tattered notes/bills mixed in with the cash...
