It would probably be the end of NASA and the space shuttle programs. These conspiracy theories seem to pop up every now and then, but is is science fiction. Perhaps he was indeed briefed but the content was concerning leads and theories of UFO existence rather than actual encounters with aliens. |

"Talk about rock star cred."If you would not have posted on this topic, I was going to, and you have pretty much summed up my sentiments with that one statement. I hope nobody is confused by his near hysterical reception in Germany and probably some other countries, to interpret this as foreign relations credibility. Hussein is an unpleasant name in recent American history. But I think most voters already knew that is his middle name, and don't need anyone to make the association for them. |

Obama's name comes from both Arbian and Kenyan Lao origins. I posted a link in one of the above comments which is a good site for looking up name origins. Thanks for your input. |

Many Middle Eastern countries are predominately Muslim and Obama's name comes from both Arabic and Kenyan Lao origins so it is probably a common name to be associated with Muslim culture. |

Thanks for your response. I think people tend to make those associations in their minds, consiously or unconsiously, if they have strong emotional feelings about a name. |

That's an interesting way to try and minimize the "Hussein effect." While I don't think the name necessarily indicates one is a Muslim, I still don't agree with many of the changes Obama tends to bring to the USA. Those concerns are more important to me than his name. |

His name has caused a lot of people to take a closer look at his roots and upbringing. I think it is a good thing to take an honest look at the candidate and really know who it is you're voting for. People should give both candidates equal scrutiny when they investigate their backgrounds in order to make a well informed choice. |
