MyLot Paid Me, Now What?

Canada

I got a payment from Mylot, and its really nice to get paid for something that I truly enjoy although I dont get to spend much time here since I started my new job...working away from home 10 hours a day can do that I guess... When I logged on I had an email from Mylot stating that I had recieved a payment...now it sits in PayPal and I am not quite sure how to get to it...I had read somewhere in another discussion that you could put the earnings on a debit card, but how?...I dont want to link my bank account here...just too afraid, even tho so many of you have had good experiences with doing that...how can I use the earnings without giving out very important information?? How does one go about obtaining a debit card???

I think you can accept the payment into your paypal account first without having to provide your credit card details. You can always do that later. Besides, even if you are not a verified account of paypal, you can still use the funds received to purchase products online. That's what I did and I did not have any problem. Congratulations on your payment.

To use the money you have in your paypal account you need to transfer it to your bank account, unless you spend it on Ebay or something. You need a debit or credit card to transfer it to so just go to your local bank or building society and set up a account and get a card. You need to then fill in the details on your paypal account and wait for confirmation that you are verified. Dont worry though, Paypal is one of the most secure websites in the world and is owned by Ebay, so its safe enough.

Same problem here. I don't like putting details in such online account. Maybe we have to request a card from mylot which will be able get the payment easily without any worries, is that possible? Hehe. I guess 50/50.

that would be a wonderful idea, if mylot had their own card that was supported by paypal...nice suggestion... thanks for posting

I guess the money is already sitting in your paypal account. When you shop online, you can pay using paypal on those supported sites. Quite a few shopping sites support paypal so it wouldn't be too hard. I withdrew my earnings to a linked bank account. Since you prefer not to do it this way, you can try to see if you can withdraw to your linked debit card. But you said you don't have one yet... to get one, apply from your bank. Most banks should offer debit cards besides credit cards. This would be nothing to do with paypal already.

Then for your case, I should think you might be able to transfer the money from myLot that is now in your paypal account to your debit card. Either that or just use it on online shopping sites.

I have a regular debit card, but I thought from some of the discussions here that paypal had their own separate one sorta...sigh...see?..just don't know nothing...lol...I never leave home without my plastic money..everything I buy comes by the little piece of plastic in my wallet...I didn't know that I could just buy stuff if the site was paypal supported...thanks for the info..I don't have much to spend...i just wanted to know.. thanks for posting LordwarWizard..

I have Paypal transfer my funds directly to my checking account and it is a highly secure site so I've never had any problems at all. However, if you do not want to do this, then you can apply for a card directly through Paypal. Check their website and see what offers they have for their debit cards and/or credit cards. That's the easiest way to do this.

Paypal has kept specific limit for each country. When we reach that limit we can ask for a cheque or can transfer to our bank account directly. Or else as stated above you can use it online.

Well although Im not sure how to get the debt card I do know Pay Pal is afe and I have been using them constantly for over a year and a half. Just link it to your bank account then close your pay pal account. If you ever need one in the future you can open up a new one free but other then that I really have no idea how you will get it out of pay pal.

I know for a fact that you can use Paypal as a form of payment on ebay. It's one of the safest and quickest methods of payment, although you do have to check that the seller accepts paypal payments first. I honestly feel it's better to link your bank account to your paypal account. I know you say you feel uncomfortable doing that, but both myself and my partner have our accounts linked to our respective paypal accounts. We find it's much better to have the money in your bank account so you can do whatever you like with it as opposed to being restricted to a certain degree by finding something online that we can use it for.

I think to have a little peace of mind I will link it to an account, just not my main one, I might as well go ahead and a get another account at my bank for Paypal alone...think then that if something happens I will at least know that no other funds in my bank will be hurt, or touched...just wouldn't want to check my account someday and see all my savings gone..lol... thanks for posting rugrat..

On the Paypal website, there is a link to apply for a debit card. You will get it usually within a week or so. There is 1.00 charge to withdraw money and I think $250.00 limit per day like a bank. It's real easy and then you won't have to open or link any accounts to your Paypal.

Here is what I would do if you are afraid of giving out your bank regular bank account number. Open another account in some bank that is strictly to send your paypal payments to. That way, even if someone manages to steal the info they will get nothing from the account. However, I have used paypal for years and withdrawn money from paypal into my account and from my account into paypal and have never had a problem.

I know that alot of folks don't have any problems...but have you ever heard the saying "always safe than sorry"?...its just that sooooo much stuff is linked to my account already...like the car payment, mortgage, education funds, all the household bills...its my main account that I do 90% of all my banking, and I am really honestly just too scared to give it a whirl..but thats a wonderful suggestion..i might just look into it... thanks for posting.

First congratulations! In fact, you don't need to worry about revealing your information. As far as I know, pay money through PAYPAL has been used widely recently, and it is proved to be quite safe. If you don't want to get your earning through ard, I think you can ask PAYPAL for a cheque. The cheque will be delivered to you. Then you can draw your money through the bank. Good luck!

No you have to put your card number in paypal or your bank account number, they have to verify that you are a real person, and that you are not some person trying to pull a scam. And I will say I have had pay pal mess me up a few times, They have actually placed a hold on 500 dollars and then shut down y account, but in order to recive and send money online you need paypal, and you just have to chance it with them.

thanks for the information, I am very weary and really scared to link to my main account, but setting up a new one just for online buying sounds good to me so perhaps I will do that...and like you said, it all comes down to taking a chance on them... thanks for posting.

Theres a section on paypal that u can ask them to send u a check with the money u have there... so... with that check u just put over on ur bank account.. and thats it...

Also, I forgot to mention this option. If you do Ebay or Amazon or some other sites, you can buy online using Paypal. As long as you purchase within your balance amount (otherwise you would need to link another payor source). That is another option.

Once you have money in your PayPal account there is a way to have it sent to a bank account. Paypal will have FAQ's on how to do that.
