How often do you pull out your stove and refrigerator and clean under and behind them? I just pulled mine out after probably 2 years and YUCK!!! I know, I know...2 years is WAY too long, but it's one of those chores that is so easy to put off and say "I'll do it tomorrow". Tomorrow turns into a year! LOL Well, I have to say the stove was disgusting! I just poured bleach all over the floor and down the insides of the cabinets and then scrubbed. It looks so nice now and my entire house smells good. LOL I have GOT to start adding this to my weekly or biweekly cleaning list and make sure I keep up with it. How about you? Do you regularly pull out your big appliances and/or furniture?

You mean we are supposed to clean behind the stove and refrigerator? No one told me?! Ha! Sadly, I don't do that often enough. I honestly would be afraid to look under my stove, as that might just be where Jimmy Hoffa is living! I know for a fact that there is a wonderful family of dustdobbins living under my refrigerator. Some nights when the house is quiet, I can hear them singing. They love to sing the jingle from the 'Mr. Clean' commercials of a few years back. They do that just to make me have nightmares.

I have to say that I don't do this regularly. Like you I probably should, but I am just too lazy. lol I couldn't even tell you the last I did do it. I get the sides where I can reach around the stove, but I just don't pull it out. The fridge I never have, I can just imagine how gross that is. *shivers* lol

With my stove, we can't reach the sides at all. It fits perfectly inbetween 2 cabinets so there is no way to clean down the sides without pulling the whole thing out. It's just such a pain! :) But, I am determined to start doing it regularly.

Hubby is the anal one regarding the cleaning. I was surprised that he didn't feel the need to pull out the fridge. When we pulled it out to replace it last year, we found some interesting items. Of course they were covered with yuck. Bleaching is the best way to kill the germs. I used an SOS pad to get the grime off the side of the cupboard. Can't seem to get him in habit of doing it monthly though.

I think once a month is sufficient for this chore. My cooker can't be pulled out because it's a range and fitted into a very tight spot between cabinets and wall, so that's a definite no, no, unless you're Superman. My fridge and freezer push under the worktop, so it's not possible to drop anything down the back, but bits do get between them and under the front, so they still need to be pulled out. Having said that, they don't all get pulled out and cleaned behind at the same time in my home. It will be the fridge and freezer one day and the washing machine and dresser another. Brightest Blessings.

I never really care about cleaning under and behind things, lol.. unless I have a real good reason, like taking out the old stove to but in a new one :D I am really picky about having the kitchen table clean, and I dont want to step on crumbs and things but otherwise my apartment can be a mess sometimes :D

I would say I do it every few months unless something was spilt under it or something fell behind and if I have to pull it out to get something from behind it I'd might as well clean it too. Plus if you wait too long it will take you longer to clean under it because it sat longer so it makes more work for you to do.

About once a month I am detailed off by my partner to move the fridge, freezer and stove ... so she can clean behind them. she says that doing it that way it isn't so hard to keep the clean ... she does it so she must know. Oh if my brother and sister-in-law are coming for a stay of a few days ... then they are done before they arrive. My partner and I have busy lives with jobs as well as our small farm where we grow organic fruit and vegetables. She works shift work and I am an interstate truck driver ... so don't get a lot of spare time for many times at certain times of the year ... just so much else to be done that we crash at the end of the day. So when brother and s-i-l come for a visit, s-i-l helps inside the house all she can ... preserving things, cooking all the meals, washing ironing and cleaning the house. Partner feels better it it is done before they arrive ... even though s-i-l will not mind cleaning it up that is how partner feels .. so clean it beforehand we do. Sometimes they arrive without notice .. knowing we are busy so then s-i-l just goes ahead and does her own thing. Leaves my partner a bit less tired in the busy times .. has a hot meal at the end of the day .. clean house and clean clothes for work. So it is about once a month normally .. more often other times.

I have to do it usually once a week. My daughter is two and insists on playing with her magnetic letters on the floor and she will start flinging them around like crazy and they will go sliding across the floor and right under the stove and fridge. And she will scream and cry until you get them out. And then she will do it all over again. I probably have the cleanest floors (only under the appliances, lol) of anyone EVER! It's a hard and nasty chore!

Not as often as I should. I always have to get someone to help move them as they are too heavy for me. Then I don't want it to be someone who knows me real well and will tell everopne how yukky the floor was. LOL

Umm-- Never! lol.. My furniture I pull out regularly-- Like ever other week and vacuum under and behind it. The stove when we bought a new one-- same thing for the fridge-- Then again we have only lived in the house for a couple of years- I forget those things.. I try to get under it best I can during my weekly cleanings-- I don't even pull it out for Spring cleaning!

We have been slowly renovating our kitchen over the past year, so we have pulled out the stove and fridge a few times for construction reasons and cleaned while we were at it. I try to vaccuum under the fridge every 3 months or so, because the pet hair can build up and make the condensors and fan work less effeciently. I can reach behind the stove with the wand attachment on the vacuum, so it is just underneath it that the "nasties" can gather. Usually they get such a nice coating of the afore mentioned pet hair that they are no longer sticky by the time I find them. It's a gas stove, so we don't pull it out often because it can stress the supply hose so that will get done less often now that the kitchen renovation is finished.

We are getting ready to move sometime within the next two months, unless my husband gets orders. Then it will be about 4 months from now. We've lived here 2 years. As far as I know, so far the appliances have not been moved since we've been here. There's no telling what kind of things are hiding behind the fridge. And I don't even want to know what is under the stove! Yuck! I know my husband knocked an egg off the stove last weekend. I don't know if it went down where the dogs couldn't get to it, or if they ate it. It's not smelling...yet. Maybe one of the dogs or the cat ate it. As for the furniture, unless we are rearranging, we don't move stuff around to clean it out. My husband likes to rearrange the living room, though. So the couches get moved and cleaned out from under (and the baby hides stuff IN the couch, he pushes it down as far as he can behind the cushions when he gets the chance) every 3-4 months. The bedroom has been rearranged 2-3 times, and we got new furniture about 5 months ago, so that has been the cleanings behind and under those pieces.

Uuummm...I think two years is my usualy time frame for doing that also!! I just never do it unless something falls behind the stove, or rolls under there =) It is hard for me to pull the stove out and I can't even do the refrigerator. I will clean good back there when we move =)

I do mine about once a year to year and a half. (unless the kids spill something back there and they do darn it!
