Ok I am finally caught up on all my best responses. I have to admit I had let them slide for a while but now they are all caught up. I did notice that a number of people that I have seen post have lower stars and I wonder if that is because we are all forgetting to mark our their posts. It would be ashame for people that give good response not to be recognized and only people giving out bad ratings being the ones that are heard. So is everyone up for the task to go in and give out those best responses today? Come on I know you can do it if I did it!

I always give out best response, and i rate almost every post I read. I never give a negative. If I dont agree with a post then I just dont rate it at all. It just seem mean to negative someone.

Yes I try to but sometimes I'm not sure when to mark it. I try to wait for about a week and then decide.

Well, i'll be honest and say that i've marked the best responses in only 20 or 30% of my discussions that i've started. I know this is bad, and i should be responsibly marking the best responses and all that. However, i'll be doing that too. Moreover, let's consider this, my discussions started are around 10. so, not much of a problem for me :)

Yes, of course you should mark your best responses. Otherwise, you might get a horrible reputation. :P But no hurry really since payout is only once a month. Normally there will be a mad frenzy of best response marking near the end of the month. About a week more. Wow, time sure flies.

I know you are always good about topics both starting and posting. Why do we want to rate by the end of the month?

Those who are awarded best responses are paid slightly better. So people resolve discussions/mark the best responses near payout time. You can do it earlier of course, no difference. It is like why do you want to file tax now when you can do it nearer the cutoff date.

Whenever I respond to a discussion, I try to give my best response, cause that discussion is to my interest. I want to share my ideas with the topic starter. However, it's very sad that my responses have never been selected as the best response. I don't know how the topic starter choose the best responses. But since they selected other response as the best, that may means mine is not as good as theirs. Anyhow, I don't mind about that. I just express my ideas. That's ok!

Don't think they aren't as good. Some times it is hard to pick between so many good ones. Just keep going and soon you will find you have the best response.

I really try to both answer and rate all the responses to the discussions that have posted, and to mark best responses. In the beginning, i was unaware of this feature, until an experienced mylotter pointed it out to me. In some discussions I have found it very difficult to mark a best response though, and some repsonses I have found it really difficult to answer.

I am not sure if the members are forgetting to mark their responses but I always mark mine sometimes I leave them for up to 3 or 4 days but I always go and give best response when my responses come into my inbox I also always give them a + rating for their responses to my discussions so that helps them to get paid and that they have completed their part so why shouldn't I give them a best response.

I have also been neglecting my best response duty. I always rate responses to my discussions though! I just started resolving some of my older discussions yesterday and I hope to finish up today.

I always try to mark best response a couple of days after I have posted a discussion. Sometimes it is more difficult then others. I also rate all the discussions that I respond to. I normally give a positive.

I do not do this often. And, I did not realize that I am not doing it. I will start doing it from now on. At times the responses I get from "Mylotters" are real good ones. But, I think we should not mark a best response in a haste. We should know when a discussion has in a way....... fizzed out, and then give it.

In fact to be honest how can one rate, mark best response to a friend or another lol? i'm very new to mylot and i'm still trying to be conversant to the customs and the likes on this site. I've had good responses to some of my questions and discussions but i couldn't rate those persons. Those lols should pardon me. when i'm ok i'll definitely give them their due respect.

I have found that it depends on the topic and time of day I post it. Not to worry you will get the hang of it soon. I have some with no responses on them too so not to worry you aren't alone out there.

i try to pick a best response in every discussion, but that's not always possible. there are several discussions that have one answer and it's not even a good on to my question, but i do try.

Well I know with mine I always rate those I can. One liners I don't rate either way but everyone else so long as they areon topic I'll give a positive to. I do go through and do best response after a few days or once I have several pages worth of responses. I do give plenty of time for people to respond so that way I have plenty to pick from. I have some I need to do yet but I'll do them later today.

Yes, I do. I generally go through them about once a week. I will let a topic go for about 3 weeks before i give it a best response. Unless of course I get something that really deserves it immediately.

I haven't started more than a handful of discussions, but I do go back and rate everyone and give the best response. I guess it helps other people, so when I have a chance, I might as well do it. I'm also trying to remember to go through and rate all the responses in discussions that I read. Doesn't take very long and no reason not to.

I never mark the best response for my discussion because nobody give the answer that satisfied me. So you see how can I give a best response where there is not even a good answer to my question. maybe that is just my bias. Just mark best response when you feel the answer give by the person satisfied your question.

Yes most of the time, i resond to a topic in the best possible way, moreover how much time u spend on thinking a reply for a topic i think your response would get more complex so it is better think on the spot and give a good response so that i helps the person posting the topic rather than giving a response which confuses him.
