I Wanna Be Like Xena: Warrior Princess

I have to admit when I first started watching this show, it seemed rather "crude" to me. But the more I got into it and the characters of the show, the more I liked it, and grew to admire Xena. The show itself had many comical moments shrouded with inuendo, but it also had a serious, moral side about it as well. Xena had many qualities that were often overlooked: she was honest, forthright, strong, independent, level headed, and a great leader. What qualities do you think Xena had that you wish you could have?

I wish that was still shown on tv here, I used to love that show and also really liked the idea of her as a role model for women. I thought it was great for my sons to see a strong, capable woman like that.
I would love to have her physical strength, as well as her forthrightness on any situation.

Yes, you are right. I think it is important for young boys/men to see women in strong roles that show they are capable of many things, not just cooking, cleaning, and looking after the kids. thanks for your input. I appreciate it.

Okay, I wasn't really thinking physical, lol. But I gotta say, you are correct. Have you ever noticed those leg muscles she has. Oh my. What I wouldn't give to get hubby in leg lock with legs like that! LOL Thanks meme. ++++

well, I'd like to be 6' tall, able to jump & flip (yeah, I know Lucy Lawless didn't do it herself,) to beat the bad guys up & still look stunning.
In fact, about the only thing that Xena did that I wouldn't want is her lack of respect for Gabrielle's writing.

In the later episodes she did gain respect for Gabrielle's writings. That transformation was pretty amazing to watch. She did do many of her own stunts, not so much the flips though. I just love watching her kick butt on a whole army of dudes. Go woman power, lol. Thanks for your reply ElicBxn. I appreciate it.

If you like Xena, I think a good book on Celtic mythology would interest you :E Swords, magic, Gods and a whole lot of wild women warriors.

I actually love Celtic history and myths. They are some of the most wonderfully written tales. It was a very facinating era. Yep, I like those wild women, lol. Thanks for the response scammerwear.

I think the best thing about Xena is the fact that she went from being a villain and turned into a hero. I would like to be stronger with the mistakes I have made and learn greatly from them. I think the Xena character showed that humanity can grow from weak character into strong character with the help of true, pure and non-judgmental friends like Gabrielle.
