My favourite books include a good proportion of neurotic books, such as A Bell Jar, by Sylvia Plath, or Lolita, by Nabakov... I am looking for a good list of neurotic writers to expand my imagination a bit. Anyone have suggested readings?

hmmmm, neurotic. you seem to be into the classics. why not try some contemporary literature? This world just gets crazier and crazier every year. you might like Chuck Palahniuk. He's the writer of fight club. He's got a pretty fun style to read. I picked up a book of his one time in the book store and it was just so graphic and real. He's got a really gritty, raunchy, down to earth style that's just plain crazy.

I think that you might like Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and possibly even Brave New World.
