What can't you sleep without?

Be it your husband, a teddy bear, a security blanket, two pillows, a hot bath, warm milk, etc. Me, I can’t sleep without a blanket or just something to cover my feet. I don’t know why but I just couldn’t. I was sleeping over at my friend’s house and she ran out of extra blankets, I thought I could sleep without it but I couldn’t and I had to get a towel to wrap around my feet and legs. LOL.

I can't sleep without my dolphin. I have this quite huge dolphin doll that I kept next to my bed. Second, of course blanket. My place is getting quite cold right now. Hearing your story, natalie..LOL, you surely much more helpless that me with blanket. Maybe you should bring your blanket with you if you want to spend the night at your friends..LOL.

I have this old pitiful pillow that has hardly any stuffing lef tin it but I have to have it at night. I lay on a regular pillow ( I am a side sleeper) and I take this pitiful pillow and put it vertically in front of me for my right arm to be on..... it's amazing if I turn over during the night I take it with me and it assumes the same position just on the other side...LOL If I go to spend the night at a hotel or a friends house the pillow goes with me. So that is my sleeping vice.

I have a hard time sleeping without my bf. We have only been separated maybe 7 nights in a year and those 7 nights were horrible =) Sure I did survive, but there is just something about that closeness that I miss, and have a hard time sleeping without,

Wow, I guess a lot of people like to have some background noise other than music when sleeping. I think two or 3 posters said that they have to have a fan running in a background.

Like you, I can't sleep without a blanket. Although it's very hot right now I still use a blanket, just something flimsy. If there's no blanket available, I use a pillow to cover my body, kinda weird, but yeah, I gotta have a blanket to sleep with. Another thing is I can't sleep with the lights on. Unless I'm very exhausted and sleepy.

I can not sleep without the sound of a fan running. I sleep with the TV on and if it isn't on, I cant fall asleep. If the TV isn't on, I have my fan on.. both a lot of the time. When Ive had to sleep without any noise. It drives me nuts for about a week. Well as a kid I lived in a hot area and the fan helped me to cool you off. The most simple explanation for this is that the fan is now associated in my brain as a "good" thing which comforts me so now it makes it much easier for me to sleep with the sound of a fan.

I always need a Fan running, Two Pillows , calm and serene atmosphere to sleep well. Your habit of having some thing to cover your legs doesn't sound peculiar to me. I have seen many people with that habit. With out a fan running and One pillow beneath my head and one beside me i cannot sleep. If there are any disturbances then its difficult for me to sleep, unless i am totally tired.

I can not sleep without some kind of back ground noise. Whether it be a radio turned on or just leaving the tv on I have to have some kind of sound. I will lie awake for hours if I don't have some kind of background noise.

For me, I cannot sleep without a blanket over myself. I just feel so cozy and comfortable uner it even if the weather is hot. I guess it is a habit carried over from young and I also need to have a pillow under my head in order to sleep well :)

I can't sleep without a blanket either. I have to be covered no matter how hot or cold it is. Also my husband works shift work so the times he works 7 pm till 7 am I find it very hard to get to sleep without him beside me because we usually cuddle. We have a 10 month old daughter though so the option of waiting for him to get home and go to bed when he does isn't there. If I did that I'd only be getting a few hours of sleep if that because my daughter gets up anywhere between 8 and 10 am.

Generally all I need is a blanket; I've slept without pillows before. For maximum comfort, though, I like two pillows and possibly my stuffed animal seal (had it since childhood), as well as the extremely soft baby blanket I've had since before I was born. Yes, it sounds childish, but beds are where we should be most comfortable. Overall, though, I'm not very picky. I love to travel, therefore I've experienced various hotel rooms and I adjust well enough to be able to sleep anywhere with an indoor setting (in other words, I can't 'camp out').
