The Sock Monster strikes!

Prompted by another thread I just checked my laundry and sure enough, all the socks I just washed have no pairs to them. I'd love to know what the sock monster does with them all. Do all cultures have a sock monster? I'd love to hear from some of our international members as to how you 'explain' what happens to all those odd socks!

I think they just get sucked into the pipes during the draining of the machine. we had a sock wrapped tightly around a washing machine motor once, killed the machine temporarily. have you tried washing your socks in a netted bag?

I don't think our machine could sock them in, do people in China, India and Arabia have the Sock Monster I wonder, or is it a European/American thing?

I was just complaining about this I have two bags of unmatched socks looking for a mate. Where have they gone I guess to that great sock void.

what i've noticed is if the machine is too full, the machine eats them...as it happens to me sometimes.
