My dog doesn't want to stay on the floor! HELP!

Lately, I noticed that my dog doesn't like to stay/sit/lie down on the floor. Like last night he kept on running from a chair to another, from a couch to another and when he visited me in my room even, he just jumped right on my bed which he never did before (and which I don't train him to do also). What do you think is the problem with him? I have these weird thoughts that maybe he can sense something underneath the floor?

Our 3 year old lab mix started doing this about 3 months ago. She'll jump form chair to couch and doesn't seem to like her feet touching the floor. She rums as fast as she can into our room at bedtime and doesn't leave the bed until I wake up in the morning. Have you changed your flooring recently? We have hardwood floors, and the vet told me she may not like the way her nails feel and sound on the floor. We cut them as short as we could, but she's still not fond of getting of the furniture.

We didn't change our flooring recently but we do put wax more often now. Do you think this made a difference? I really want to have my dog's nails cut now since that might also be a factor. Hmm. Thanks for this! Props for you =)

It may have made a difference. Some dogs are snsitive to that sort of stuff. I'm glad you posted this discussion, now I can tell my hubby that Sandy is not a freak!

it's very weird! but you have to observe him, maybe he's developing a OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and he feels that the floor is dirty or something. Oberve him the way he cleans himself like not stop licking on his feet and hands, or excessive licking on his hair... tell me more stuffs about him, like what he do...

Try walking him during the day to wear out some of his energy, see if that doesn't help the problem.
