Alot of people use the excuse that going to a gym is expensive and i cant exercise at home because home equipment is not cheap either. I say throw away the excuses and do something good for you mind and your body you owe it to yourself. You dont need to spend alot of money to get fit. Here are some of my ideas. 1. Walking a free sport and if you dont like to go alone start a walking group with friends. 2. Borrow exercise videos from the library to do a home routine. 3. Use the seasons to your advantage winter is a wonderful time to get active not to hybernate. Build a fort with the kids go sliding skating highing have some fun. 4. If you can fit it by some second hand equipment. 5. Park farther away from the mall and walk or take the stairs instead of the elevator. There are so many things that you can do to stay fit. What ideas can you come up with. Lets use our imagination. I have three kids i like to think of things i can get the whole family into to benefit them as well.

Yes well people do need to help themselves get more fit but the cost can be very expensive for a lot of people, the thing is that you can exercise for free you do not have to belong to a gym or buy expensive equipment to be able to do this. Walking is free and there are not enough people that walk today they are far too lazy and want to go by car or public transport. So I would agree with you and yesturday I did a lot of walking and felt great although I was tired when I came home but you have to get used to this and that feeling will subside as you exercise on a daily basis.

Great advice there kitkat! Although i go to a gym around 4 to 3 days a week, i dont get enough time to do some cardiovascular exercises! I will try to heed your advice and park further from my office and will take the stairs instead of the elevator. I would just like to add here that most people think going to the gym and working out would give them a ripped body! i admit going to the gym works but you must also control your diet! avoid fast food which are calorie rich and greasy and also bad for the arteries as they clog them! avoid fizzy drinks too, cause i read somewhere that a mouth full of fizzy drink contains around 1400 calories!!

Another thing that is available right on your television sets there are lot of morning workout sessions that they do everyday..This is a good time of year there is so much you can do outside and every time you move your body you are exercising but it won't take weight off and get you fit if you don't eat the right foods, exercise is cool but it really is a two part program if your trying to lose weight.

That is so true is it a two part program and i dont do diets they do not work i believe the only way to lose weight and keep it off is a permanent change of life style and that is eating right and exercise. Diets work while you are on them. I am losing and keeping it off my way and i dont feel deprived as you do on many diets out there. Thanks for the post my friend and have a good day.

I go to the gym almost everyday because I'm asking for a miracle, I need to lose 6 lbs in 30 days, hehehe! Well, the gym I go to is not really expensive and I'm glad I was able to discipline myself and go to the gym, my body needs the exercise. Anyway, your suggestions are cool, they could be of great help really, but there are some items that I cannot apply to myself :( For instance, I cannot do a home routine, I rent a small room and I don't have a single home appliance, so I can't dance or exercise in my room, another is I don't have kids to skate with, hehehe! But I do walk all the time... I love walking :D Thanks for sharing your ideas... keep them coming! :D

You made some excellent points. Walking is my favorite of all and all you need is a good pair of walking shoes. Also, to change your routine so you won't get bored, use your bike or borrow a bike and go for a ride with your friends or your kids. Also, go to the park with your kids and play some ball with them or go for a run with your dog.

Your view is absolutely true .. The people who are saying excuses for not taking exercises are really trying to mask their laziness.. I also not use to go to gym .But i excercise daily by simple things .I use to go walking rather than going by my bike to places which are few minutes away from me.Some of my friends use to go by bike if it take only ten minutes for them to walk to there. I also try to walk in open air when i am having no work so that it will help me get some good air and execercise.I also use to park my bike a little far from where i have to go so that i can take a little stride.I will also not waist any chance for playing with kids which is good excercise for out mind.. Besides this i use to do some pushups and pullups daily.. I think these are good enough to make anyone fit.

Great tips- I was going to the gym but it got very expensive!~ Now my daughter and I ride our bikes up in the country. We take long walks-- When the weather isn’t great- we have walking tapes in that we own and do them in the house- They were cheap--- We actually have taped them and my mom has her own too now. We play softball daily in the yard-- chase the dogs etc. You can get exercise-- you just have to find it!

My favorite way to exercise is to walk. Just a few short years ago, I would walk seven miles a day. I felt so good when I got home. It is a great way to increase energy. We always park the farthest away from the store that we can for the exercise. These are great tips that you have shared. I love to go hiking and walking up and down the hills is great exercise

I try to stay fit by playing with my son. He is very active, and he keeps me on my toes! It's an excellent way to burn calories as well as interact and be closer with him. Standing also burns a lot of calories, even if you don't move! It fires up your metabolism. They say that it only takes 20 minutes a day of exercise to lose weight, and I think that we can all spare that.

I think you have given so much great advise... I enjoy walking and my son is 5 and he walks with me and does 3km without even breaking a sweat... it is fun to go walking with him as he sees and notices things that i do not see... I have also recently started doing situps and he does them with me too... this is a good way of using your own body weight to get fit... people have forgotten to use their own bodies to get fit and now-a-days want to rely on machines to help them get fit... what do you think our ancestors did to get fit... they never went to gym or used machinery to help them get fit... so get back to basics...

Make sure your eating healthy. Cut down on soft drinks and junk food and replace them with fruits or vegetables. I suggest push ups and sit ups every morning and every night. Drink lots of water and start taking multi-vitamins.

Walking is definately the best excercise for ost of us, especially people who are a bit overweight or quite unfit. Just a few extra minutes added everyday makes a huge difference really quickly, its amazing how fast it starts to work and you feel better for it too.

In addition, TAKE THE STAIRS. I understand this might not be possible if you need to go 12 floors up, but it drives me mad to see people hop on the elevator to go up 2 flights! And they wonder why gain weight.
