Baby found dead in swing- Starved to death by parents

I was reading just the other day in the news about a 4 month old baby that was found dead in his swing. The baby weighed just 4 lbs when he was found. Court documents state that ants and cockroaches were crawling all over the baby. His parents who are 22 and 29 have been arrested. They also had a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter who are now in Child Protective Services.
In other news a 17 year old teen gave birth to a baby and stabbed her baby girl 135 times and put the baby in a garbage can outside the home.
Things like this just break my heart. It makes me wonder what this world is coming to.

Why are they even parents if they can't even take care of their own children. I find this cruel and extreamly heartbreaking. This is making me want to cry right now. 135 times after having the child???!! Starving a child?!?! These are people who need help desperatly. I really feel for those kids.

I don't know what would happen in the states to the girl who stabbed her baby but here in canada she basically would go free because they would say it was post partum depression which i think is bull if thats the case then she should have taken the baby to the police not sure about there but here women can take their babies to them if they dont' want them and they don't have to give their names. I hate hearing stuff like this. I really could never imagine it. I am a mother of 2 and I think its inconceivable to kill anyone let alone a poor defenseless child.

that's really sick...i don't understand what people are doing nowadays... if they don't want to become parents, why make one at the first place??? after 9 months of pregnancy and the suffering that they have to endure during giving birth, they kill the baby... that is really absurd and so irresponsible in my eyes... they can let other families who are really desperate to have children but can't have one to adopt the baby and let the baby to have a better life rather than killing him/her... it makes me so sad and mad at the same time whenever i read this kind of news...

Swtrose, I hear you. Where is this world going to? Where is the Love? How could people do these atrocious things to their own young. I'm a student of psychology, and for fear of sounding a bit arrogant, I will say I am pretty well versed, but still there is no explanation for such deviation. Man oh man. 'tis a sick world sometimes.

It makes you so sad to know we live in a sick world like this. And whatever punishment these sick 'people' are given, they will never have to experience what these children have gone through.

This is so very wrong and this did break my heart into. So many people would do anything to have a babe of their own and cant and people like this oh my i just cant. Their best bet is to keep the parents behind bars in solitary confinement to keep them alive cause if i had a chance i would make them feel just like there child. This makes me so angry you dont even know. YOu are so right what is this world coming too suffer the little children alright.

YES! I posted about that same story awhile ago! So heartbreaking. 4 months and 4lbs. They tried to say that the baby had some condition that caused it to be so skinny when the police arrived. How heartbreaking. Just to think about the terrible life that child must have had that led up to that point makes me want to cry.

Yes it is really terrible. Children are so helpless.... It breaks my heart as well. Someone should have known and interviened. The parents should have known better too.

I have heard such stories in interiors of India but it happens in your country is surprising. But at leastr such parents get caught and punished but in India law is so slow that it never catches up with them. There has been so many cases of malnutirition and purposely killing of girl child that its just unbearable if you wish to read more just see this

That's so unreal.....I cannot even try to image this, and man when you thought you heard it all. I am speechless all I can think after reading this is I hope that they sit in a cell for the rest of their living lives to sit and think LONG AND HARD what they have done. WOW

its really bad to hear such news. Some people in our country even an actress were not given a chance to have a baby, they were to upset about it, but some were just letting their baby suffer that way, they are really bad for not appreciating their baby.

hearing things like this makes my so sad because i have two little ones and i can never imagine anything like that happening to them,i mean it is so messed up i know the u.s. has it to where you can take your baby to an emergency room and drop them off over there if you for some odd reason don't want your child but to kill them? that is insane their are to many option for any of this to still be happening

Yes, it's really sad. There are so many people in the world that are unable to have children and would like to and then there are those who are just killing their own children. I also read of a woman who placed her baby in the oven because she was trying to "burn the devil" out of him.

Oh my goodness I read about this with disgust on my mind and saddness in my heart. How could a mother do this to a child? I hope these parent fry for what they did to that poor poor child.

There is just no excuse for this kind of behavior. There are too many decent, loving people who would have, at minimum, taken the baby to protective services. Why in the world wouldn't you just give the baby to someone else? It makes me wonder what terrible things the 2 and 4 year old have seen in their short lives. We have to take a stand and let people know this won't be tolerated. Sadly, they might just get a slap on the wrist.

And people still don't think that an abortion on a fetus that isn't aware or feeling anything yet is the inhumane choice? Would you really prefer to see stories like these than see abortion remain legal and make it easier to access?

That's true, but teenagers are rarely rational in the first place and doubling the hormonal craziness of a teenager with the hormonal craziness of pregnancy, plus the fear of being caught, they aren't exactly sane.

It is sad but there is not a class that teaches these kids how to deal with the pressures of having a child or what to do if they are overwhelmed. That is no excuse for either of these cases and it shows that we need to do more to protect our children. Children are much more important to the world than cars but kids have to have a license to drive and yet can have babies without any kind of training. What kind of sense that makes, I don't know.

What bothers me most is the fact that there are so many people in the world who want children but can't physically have them. I wish younger, distressed parents knew they had other options; most don't realize you CAN put a child up for adoption even if you already have one you have kept. Why put a child in harms way if you don't have to?
