Another name for it is cramming and I am guilty of it. I guess people just do not learn after all and do it when we could be studying properly. Cramming as the name implies is like pushing stuff into your brain forcibly and that can't be good at all.

I find that when you have a set revision period, you procrastinate even more because you feel like you have loads of time left before the exam and you have full days to do the revision, rather than just evenings. I cope by making myself do at least an hour or two each day, and the days when I get closer to the exam I simply clear my schedule of procrastination e.g. going out for coffee. I also pull out my internet cable so I can only read my notes.

During the exam or do you mean before it? I usually procrastinate on studying, but I try not to. I guess I'm not really all that bad, it just seems like I haven't finished the readings by the night before and I usually just give up. However, I am probably more guilty of actually procrastinating during the exam. I'll relax for awhile and just sit there wasting valuable time with my eyes out of focus or drifting around the room. Then I don't finish the exam and wonder why.

During exams or a few minutes before the exam begins, that's when I review. I don't know but I usually pass exams that way. That's how I procastinate in reviewing lessons for the exams. I know its bad but, motivation to study just comes up along with the pressure when the deadline is just a few hours if not moments away.. ^_^;

I lead the procastination brigade. Gave my 12th standard exam a few days ago and procastination resulted in my worst ever performance. Apart from being stressed out the night before, I wasn't perfect with a single concept in the syllabus. Previously, I was ranked 11th for state in the 10th grade exams and within a span of 2 years, procastination lowered my academic standards. It hurts to see peers who always scored less than you getting more than you in the 12th grade board exams! :( And I have another exam coming up in a week. Common Entrance Test for engineering courses. I procastinated all year, my knowledge level is low and I know I'll lose out on this too. There.
