Shall we all make the World a better place tomorrow?

Heres an experiment for us all. Its been shown that if you smile at people, and perform small acts of kindness (holding a door, saying 'good morning' to a neighbour, allowing someone to pull into traffic graciously etc) then those acts snowball, the person you were nice to does to to someone else, and the general happiness goes up. Well, there are thousands of us here on Mylot, if we all decided that tomorrow we were going to go out of our way to make the people around us feel happier using these small acts of kindness, what do you think might happen. Would we make an appreciable difference to the world on that day?

that's having a positive mental attitude and i think that is the best. positive attracts positive and i'm sure this will do good everywhere you go, it will be contagious!! LOL. i've tried that before, smiling even if i felt rotten, and i was amazed by the reaction of the people i've seen during that day. a simple smile changes everthing. hope most people try this.

Yes, we sure will make a difference if we show acts of kindness to all people. We may make a phone call to a friend saying we are thinking about him/her and that we are praying for them. Lending a helping hand when needed. Reading a book/bible to someone who is sick and needs some company.

Oh wouldn't it be nice if everyone took the advice you've listed here. I find myLot to have some very good people. I have been blessed with people who care here on myLot. I really belive that we live in such a stressful enviroment that for the most part people forget to appreciate what they have and don't take time to act happy or reflect it on others. Everybody seems too busy these days.

What a great concept. I make every attempt to perform those small acts of kindness that you have mentioned. And, yes I do see the change in people's expression when a total stranger extends a helping hand or a cheery greeting. So many of us seem to be caught up in the illusion of success being the main ingredient of happiness that we have forgotten the human factor.

just you and me can't be hopeful of changing the strange pattern of the society to which we form part. If all of us humans think in the same vein of helping.loving each other this place would certainly be a heaven .

I always try to hold the door for people when I am in public and it is not uncommon for me to meet eyes with a stranger and smile only to see them smile back. I also let people into traffic when I am driving. Evidently if you are posting this discussion you do these type of things also.
