My Turn For a Boast Now.... :-)

Well, not so much of a boast, but I was so touched by this comment that I will treasure it, forever. As a few of my friends will know, I like to write poems. Well, I wrote a poem one evening and posted it to my Hub Pages. I have a few fans, but one of them, an Irishman who writes excellent poems, read my poem, "Pain of the Heart". This evening, I received an alert that I had received a new comment from this guy, so I apprehensively went to read it, knowing his talents. Wow! I was so touched with the quote he added to his comment that I have to show it... it was so special. So, here it is.... Drax says: this is lovely Darkwing, thank you.... Soren Kierkegaard said;- A poet is an unhappy being whose heart is torn by secret sufferings, but whose lips are so strangely formed that when the sighs and the cries escape them, they sound like beautiful music... and then people crowd about the poet and say to him: "Sing for us soon again;" that is as much as to say, "May new sufferings torment your soul." He's given me encouragement to pen a few more poems shortly. What are your thoughts on this comment? Do you write?

My hon, that is great that you like to write poems I love to write and read them as well. I do believe this to be true of poets and they also have hidden words to tell in their poetry and that is wonderful that you receive a response from this wonderful Irishman to give you encouragement to write more poems. xx

Yes, I will treasure that comment. It wasn't the only one I got on that poem but it will certainly stay with me. You can read my poems on www.freewebs.com/darkwing3 if you would like to. It's not a referral site.. just a site for my musings. Do you have a site where I can read yours? I love poetry. Thank you for your response Kathy. Take care, my friend.

i think a poet like you has a different approach in life, then puts it down to words in special ways. it's true that most poets i've known are people whose heart is torn by secret sufferings. i see you as an artist, and you've got a special way of connecting into the world, through your own beautiful thoughts and words. i wrote when i was younger, then i stopped - i don't know why. but my room was used to be filled with poem books, verses, idioms. and i love deciphering them. but my interest waded for some reasons. good luck to your poem writing!!

Awwwwww, it's a shame you lost interest in writing. Thank you for your kind words here, MLGB. I try to write some of the happier thoughts as well, because I do have lots of happy times in my life. I suppose it's just that you take those more for granted and they don't weigh on your mind so much. Brightest Blessings and thank you for your response.

It's a shame your daughter hasn't written for a while, but we all seem to get those gaps. She'll probably come back to it when she's ready. Don't despair. Yes, I really appreciated his comment and told him so. It's going into my Book of Treasured Words, to keep forever. :-) Thank you for your response my friend and Brightest Blessings. x

I have been toying with Lulu, but it takes such a long time to try and figure out their system, and people pop up on IM, commanding my attention, so I give up! lol. I will settle down to it one of these days though. Thank you for your response and Brightest Blessngs.

Perhaps I have watched too much olden chinese movies. I would be mesmerised by the poets when they 'chant' their poems. And I find poems good at expressing one's emotions. However, I have always find it a handicap to understand or write poems. Perhaps it is the language barrier. I alway felt that only those good in English is able to do such literary stuffs.

Yes, I find poetry a good way of expressing my emotions. Most of them stem from happenings in my life. It could be the language barrier that prevents you from understanding and writing poems. A pity. Thank you for your response and Brightest Blessings.

I'm sure you can tell from my posts and responses that I am not a writer Darkwing , although I used to love creative writing many years ago when I was at school! I think that was a heartfelt comment and what a wonderful, profound quote! Good for you Sweetheart - keep up the good work - but only if you can do it without the suffering and torment of the soul! xx

Something had happened that had put me on a downer that day. Some of my poems are sad, but others are quite happy. For instance, I wrote some about the Seasons, one for each Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter so far. I also wrote one for Gabs about her dream. If you're interested in reading them, you're quite welcome to visit my freewebs site on, www.freewebs.com/darkwing3/. This is not a referral... just where I initially write and display my poems, and I'm thinking about adding the articles I've written. Yes, a very wonderfully profound quote, and I will keep up the "good" work Mummymo. I've been given a lot of support from one particular Mylot member who encouraged me to build my own site. Thank you for your comments and Brightest Blessings... oh, and by the way, I think you write some very well-worded discussions. I don't think you've lost your talent for writing at all. xxx
