Has your significant other ever brought home something to decorate your home that you hated? A few years ago my husband brought home to statues. They were about three feet high, and one was an American Indian Chief and the other was an Indian maiden. Now I have nothing against Indians or even Indian decor, but these were really ugly and I hated them. They were big and so noticable, and everybody that came into my house would tell me how ugly they were. Yeah, yeah, I know, I would say, my husband brought them home, and my friends would all commiserate with me on my husband's bad and very tacky taste in decor. One weekend my son and his family and their dog came to visit. His dog and my dog decided to play tag with the cat, and they knocked over Big Chief and unfortunately (snicker) it smashed into pieces. Needless to say, my husband was very upset, he LOVED those things. A few months later, the cat decided she wanted to sit on top of the Maiden and it fell over, and ended up with the same fate as her predecessor, in the trash. LOL Hubby was unhappy, but I was giddy with joy!! I didn't have to look at those ugly things in my house anymore!

I laugh a lot at your post Dlkuku. The thought of seeing your partner in near misery and you in victory; is hilarious. So far, I haven't encounter such incident yet. But the size of the statues, I must admit is a great factor for dislike ha. Maybe if they were in miniatures. They would be cute. Have a great day Dlkuku! (^^,)

Thats really funny. I dont usually disagree with anything that my wife wants to do with the interior of our house, but when she gets these wierd ideas about what she likes to do with the yard then I have to tell her what I think. If she had her way we would just pave the whole thing so that we wouldnt have to mow the lawn ever again. I dont think she has to worry about me bringing home any wierd statues or anything like that. Take care!!

Funny you should mention this, as I was given a plastic Indian statue for Christmas by my husband. It was clearly one of those last minute panic buys on the morning of the 24th. Did I ever hit the roof! He didn't even have a receipt for the bloody thing, but you can be sure it is not sitting on the mantle. Did you ever see A Christmas Story, where the dad wins a lamp shaped like a woman't leg and it's all done up in fishnets and so forth? It gets broken too, and appears to be one of those accidently on purpose accidents. Good tactics!
