You can be Traced from your Mobile Phone - Good or Bad?

May 1, 2007 1:24pm CST
Now that someone's location can be traced from their mobile phone (so long as it is switched on, such services can be found here if interested http://tinyurl.com/2gfgm5 ), and these services are now available to the general public, and with so many people from young children to elderly relatives owning a mobile phone, do you feel this is a good service to have available or an invasion or privacy that could lead to worse events???

Sounds dangerous if you think about it. What about the young teenagers out their with cell phones? I think only the police should have access to this and maybe the parents of the teenagers, but not the public. It could end up not being a good idea. What if some crazy man is watching your daughter or son and found out their number and then one day tracks them down? And you can use your imagination to finish the story. I just don't think it's a good idea for the public, but it is a good idea if kept private to where only the police can track it down. And I have always thought it was like that. Never knew it was public. Scary.

At present you do have to prove that you are either the owner of the phone or the legal gardian of the phone owner in the case of minors, so I suppose its not that public, yet, but we all know how these things can be exploited by those who know how.

Mobile Phone is an essential now a days. It brings world in my pocket. I do not suggest young children to play game with it.

this is definitly not a good thing. the best part of the mobile i liked was the anonymity of your location. you could be in another city and noone would know. i definitly dont like it.
