I'm So Dumb!

The older I get, the more I learn. I'm grateful for that. But the more I learn the dumber I feel. There are just some things that make me feel so dumb. Some things I just don't get. I don't know if I have a mental block or it's just not time for me to know it. I wish I wasn't so dumb. I'll try harder to understand as I grow. I'll read more. I'll study the issues more. I'll try to use more than just 10% of my brain. Something! Can anyone tell me how to get smarter?

don't be harsh to yourself, i don't think you're that dumb. individuals just learn things at different rates. some are fast learners and some need time to get what is being taught them, but that doesn't mean they're dumb. there might be some materials that are easier for you to understand or learn than others

well, if you insist...but i still disagree. claiming you are dumb lets you justify some things that you cannot do but they are not necessarily true. maybe the thing that you can't get is just something that you are not good at but it doesn't mean you're not good in anything. just try to know your strengths and weaknesses, improve the former and try to make up for the latter

As I study and learn, I have tried to get used to the idea that I will never feel truly smart. The more I learn, and the more I know, the dumber I feel. It seems to be par for the course. But, please dont let your feeling dumb keep you from learning. Its in the pursuit of learning that one becomes smart, even if one never feels that way.

Oh nonew3, I never stop learning. Each day I learn something new. It's when we stop learning that we might as well lay down and --- well, I'm not ready to do that. I still have too much to learn. Thanks for the encouragement.

I really do not know how to advice you on that. I guess even if you have read many encyclopedia, books, newspaper, etc. if you do not understand it whole heartedly, that's no use. I think that when you like to learn something , try to put your heart in it. Because sometimes we tend to recall a certain topic when ask but we forgot the whole thing about it. We should consider also the burdens that we have in our mind. It is better to learn without anything that is bothering us in our mid. Me too, as i grow older I have noticed that. I am growing dumber. And I feel bad about it. Also one more thing if I am conversing with my friends, we try to talk about stuffs that has relevance to our lives. In that way I could gather more information too. Especially if you are talking to an intelligent person. Goodluck to our brains!
