Does anyone know what I'm talking about? They are like little mesh bags, where you put I think frozen fruit and stuff on the inside and they suck/bite at it? Has anyone tried these? What did you put in them and how do you clean them? Are they safe? I'm still paranoid somehow he'll get a large piece of something off, but I really think he'd like it, so i'm torn! Tell me your experiances with the mesh feeders.

I've never tried it, although I'm thinking about it. But I'll have to order it online, seeing how we don't have much more than a walmart in town. Anyways, I have a friend whose used it for both of her children, and raves about it. Said it was wonderful. I think it would be very useful, and safe. I don't see how anything could get through it really. The mom said it was messy, but kids get messy when they eat, so that's to be expected, but she said it was REALLy great when the kids were teething, as she could put cold fruit in there and they would just gnaw away at it, and fruit is much better for them then those teething biscuits.

Thanks! Do you think the food can just be cold or is it supposed to be frozen? Or maybe it doesn't matter? I dont know why I have frozen stuck in my head, maybe someone mentioned it to me before and I just assumed it had to be that way. I havent seen one up close that's why I worried about stuff getting thru, i'll have to find one in person, and check it out!

I think they generally say NOT to have it frozen, although I'm not positive. I think I've heard that if it's frozen it can hurt thier tender gums. (but like I said, I'm not positive on that one!)

I got one of these at a baby shower for my son. We tried it but he didn't care for it too much and it made a horrible mess. Mess aside, it doesn't hurt to try, just because my kid didn't like it doesn't mean yours won't.

I used to put bananas in it, my son loved that. But you have to clean them right away, the food get stuck in their easily. I had a scrub brush and I'd clean it out with that.
