I just came in from mowing my yard, pushing it just a little further and further to the creek so that I would't have to weedeat anymore. Now it is stuck in the mud...one back wheel just spins and spins no matter how hard I rock it. What can I do to free it? HELP!

I've gotten our riding lawn mower stuck many, many times. If rocking it doesn't work then I usually end up shifting it into neutral, getting off and literally pushing it out. Another idea that's worked for me is to put something under that tire that's spinning, like a paper bag or something to give it some sort of traction. If none of those things work then we ended up getting the big tractor out to pull it out. If you don't have a tractor, then a car or pickup should work just as well. Good luck!

Well, it is still there! I had to go to school to pick up one of the kids...who just wasn't feeling too well. So, there it is in the yard, and the rain is moving our way! Hopefully, I can get to it before it hits! BY THE WAY..thanks for all of the good suggestions!

Depending on what kind of yard it is, probably something big as it has a creek and needs a riding lawn mower :P. Can you access it with a car? You could then simply pull it out with the car like you'd pull another car away as well. Otherwise gather as many people as you can, rope it up and pull it out all together ;). You can also try digging out the spinning wheels and placing something more solid on its path instead like wooden boards.

I have got our riding mower stuck in the mud before also. I just took a rack and wedged it under the tire that was stuck and it grabbed hold and I got unstuck from the mud. You need to put something in fronmt of the tire for the tire to ride on as it is trying to get unstuck so it does not dig deeper in the mud. You can use a board or a rock that I know of. Use something strong and flat and wedge it in front of the stuck tire and you should be able to get it out.
