Too Old and Too Young

I am half a year plus a month until I am 50. Reading some things in magazines, online, and watching on the news, I've seen things that I have to be 50, or more to 'enjoy'. You have to be 50 to join AARP You have to be 50 or 60 to get the senior discounts You have to be 65 for SS and Medicare With the economy, who knows how old you have to be anymore to retire also at 50 I am too old for things My last kids meal was 38 years ago. I'm too old to sit on Santa's lap (though I'll gladly play Santa and let some females sit on may lap ... hehehe) I can't try out for American Idol (though my family says with my voice I wouldn't get past the first tryout) I'm in that in between 35-50 range. Where we have all the responsibility but none of the benefits. What do you think? What can or can't you do because you are too old or too young?

Yes I can see where you're coming from. I am approaching 40 fast and feeling rather down about it, though why I should I don't know because everyone keeps telling me "life begins at 40", so does it? Did life begin for you at 40? Cos I sure don't feel that it will. I don't have as much energy as I used to before, I don't enjoy going out socially as much as I used to, I feel more relaxed having a night in front of the TV or reading a book. Pubs don't appeal to me as much as they used to, the music is too loud and I feel I have to shout above the music to be heard and know I'm going to have a sore throat the next day from screaming to be heard. People refer to me a woman or lady - I still think of myself as girl LOL! Is that normal? When I fill in surveys I get bounced out often when I put in my age group, I still don't get that one! At nearly 40 I feel I'm not young enough to be daring and start out on a new career path, I should stick to the one I'm in because it pays well (don't get me wrong, I enjoy my work). When I hear younger friends talking about getting married and getting a mortgage, I think "Thank God I only have 8 years left on mine!" I could go on, but you'd probably stop reading... x

I don't care how old I am because age is all about numbers...if you stop thinking about, amazing things can happen.... Younger people want to be your friends Same age people say.."If you are old as I am..." Older people are calling you...kid...... I could see some wrinkles on my face, but so what...inside we are always kids with play attitude...:)
