Ocimum sanctum commonly known as tulsi in hindi is a sacred plant of our country,India. The plant is a common remedy for cough and cold. Boil some leaves along with tea is a very good for sore throat. Similarly there are other plants known for medicinal usage, if you know any do share with all.

Yes, herbs have many medicinal applications from time immemorial in society worldwide. But the main credit goes to 'Ayurved', a branch of 'Atharbved' of Hindus. I know and also have a plant that have many medicinal and cosmetic applications. It is 'Dhanwantari' or 'Lemon-grass'. Its medicinal applications are many those can not be expressed here. One easy application I may write here is by squeezing its leaf and inhaling its strong smell, it gives relief in flowing nose. Also inhaling the strong smell fights against mental depression and tension. Thanks.

Ya, I too use 2-3 leafs in morning tea daily. I have planted 4 plants of Tulsi. I use its seeds also after collecting it, though it is tough job. In throat cleaning it works better. Cough releases very fast. It has no side effect like other medicines.

Aloe Vera is the best ( cuts, sore throat), tea tree oil (skin, hair, minor cuts), chamomile and Valerian root tees (if you can't fall asleep), garlic and onion are natural antibiotics... There are really so much - I can't even think of everything at ones... But nature is so powerful that is has cure for most desires in itself. People should be spending more time learning about it, rather then eating fist full of pills.

It was from the bark of the willow tree that we got aspirin. Hopefully the scientist will learn the secrets of the many plants in the world (especially South America) where they are destroying so such forest for small profits. There are so many plants and animals that may become extinct before they are even know about because of some ones want to make some money.
