addicted to fantasy...

Because it is unreachable I'd say, wanting to be something which simply no-1 else on this planet is. Although it also offers a lot of extra entertainment by not being bound to realism that much.

It is natural for human beings to want to be someone or something other than what we are. There is a trace of our need for religion in our need of fantasy and mythology. We need to believe that other things other than what we see may be possible. We need to have fun, and using the imagination allows us to feel, be, experience whatever we want to from the safety of our own dwelling. The ideas and notions of magick and superhuman powers have been a part of human culture from the beginning. Why? Maybe it's a part of our genetic programming to keep our mind's open and to allow us the possibility of considering anything, and being able to be problem solvers.

well, its been going on since early man. you can see it in folklore and history books. before people knew how to explain certian things in like we made up stories which some can say are fantasies to explain what we as humans couldn't. like the stories of Dragons was actually a combination of what people & animals feared the most with the body of a snake, wings of a bat...something like that. The Native Americans who had stories to explain every aspect that happend in nature. of course those things advanced and we go into the 'magical' realm of things. peopl will always be facinated with they don't understand, don't see...and i think most of the facination is that we want so much for it to be true. there is still A LOT we don't know about ourselfs and of course the earth and the whole universe so in a way, it can be believable. people from outer space, other times and demension portals, demons, angels, magic....its all possible because we really don't know how to explain certian things till this day.
