I was just wondering if anyone out there still uses calendars and watches nowadays, since we have new techologies like cell phones, which have a built in calendar and a time that you can look at. I think cell phones are very convient because they have all of that in there and you don't need a calendar or wear a watch anymore.

A cellphone can run of battery easily. A watch is more reliable. I do use table calendars to mark my appointments and for planning. At one easy glance, I can see the available dates. This is not so with cellphones. When using the phone, how does one see the time and check appointments if we do away with both the calendar and watch.

It is much easier to glance at my watch or to keep notes on my calendar. My calendar also has printed information on it that is not on my electronic devices. yes, I find a calendar very useful (especially as I age and my memory is not so great) as well a watch is practically a necessity in todays world. still.

I still like using calendars and watches. I love calendar's because I like having a hard copy that I can write on physically. It helps keep me situated and on track. I like physical watches too when I actually wear one. I don't like carrying my cell phone with me everywhere that I go, because it's a bit bulky and just takes up space. So wearing a watch is a lot easier than having to pull and sort through everything look for a phone!

I still wear a wrist watch even though I have a cellphone. It's the matter of conveniently turn to your wrist to check the time.

I think you right. But both calendar and watches are easy to use and more practice then a cell phone. So I think calendar and watches are still needed

I know there are alot of new advanced technologies out there but I still use my calendar in the home. I have two of them hanging on my wall. I also still wear my watch and so does my husband. I think we are so used to having those things on hand. The new technology is very convenient by I still like some of the old ways of doing things also. I'm not old fashioned though LOL, just accustomed.

I use both a watch and a calendar. I have a cell phone, but I use it for just that, a phone, and I rarely have it on actually. I find having a cell phone has become somewhat of a bother. I am tired of being ignored by those on their phone, and very tired of hearing other people's conversations. I use it for me, if someone wants to call me, they can leave a message. That's just me though.

What's wrong with having them? I have both a calendar and watch. There's one of the former sitting on my desk less than a metre away. And there's my watch on my wrist when I am out. Always useful, phone or not. :P

Yes I still use them. I have a small calender in the bathroom to remind me when to change my birth control patches and women stuff. lol I also have a calender in my kitchen. I got one with European castles in Jan. I wear a watch everyday. Even though I have a cell, I usually keep it in my purse, and I have a lot of stuff in their, so it's kind of a pain to get it to check the time. It's easier with a watch. :-) Greets Lydia!

I still use a calendar and a watch. Its a lot easier to just look at your wrist than to reach for your phone in your pocket just to have a look at the time. Besides, when I'm out and about on the job, I normally use a bluetooth headset so I don't have to hold the phone. Having a watch is still very useful for me. As for calendars, I have one at home. I normally scribble birthdays, reminders or any appointments and its easy to see at a glance. Its true that you can do all that with a phone but the only time I use a calendar is when I'm at home.

Though time, date and alarm is inside mobile so still watch, calender is essential items for daily life. I use wrist watch when out, wall clock when in home, alarm clock when in bed. Calender I use in each room of my flat and I also mark important day well ahead of time, keep some record on it, some phone number, some grocery and other shoping record - its like a monthly diary. Can see holidays of week days in advance. So still watch and calender is esential items, and hope in future for long long decades it will continue.

I feel naked without my watch! I need it at work to take pulses and such. I honestly won't go out without it. I bought myself a really nice Ecodrive for Christmas 2 years ago. It is fancy enough to wear somewhere nice and sturdy enough for all the hand washing I do as a nurse. There is also a calendar on my desk for scheduling appointments and tests. I must confess I often use the calendar on my phone if I am away from my desk.

I don't personally. My wife has a calendar which she uses for important dates and such although I'm more of "take one day has it comes". I do plan ahead though but I keep the dates inside my head to remember. As for a watch I own quite a few but I never really wear them or use them for that matter. Kudos, ~Joey P.s I've been meaning to pay your discussions a visit for awhile.. finally here!! yay :)

I have both calendar and watches. I think I still need them. I have a cute calendar on my desk and quite a lot of watches. Not only for 'time' service, I think watches stand a place of FASHION.. haha..
