McDonalds

We all know what McDonalds is but I was just wondering what do you actually think of the food. Sometimes I will love the grease and saltiness of it but normally when I am trying to eat healthier the place disgusts me. I must admit that I think there deli sandwichs are fantastic. I just wish they could get better staff. They should pay more and get better people.

The biggest problem with McDonalds is that it is completely based on consumer addictions. Myself included, we get hooked. Even when we try to stay away, we find outselves suddenly wanting or craving it. We don't have their deli sandwiches here, but I am sure like everything else at McDonalds, they are good. McDonalds is actually a fair paying fast food company especially if you are loyal to them for a few years. Great topic !

Actually I quite like McDonalds (even though it's junk) but rarely have one mainly because as we all know it's not exactly healthy stuff. There isn't one locally anyway - nearest one is in Edinburgh which is about 20 miles away - so the time I'm most likely to go into a McDonalds is if I'm shopping and either can't be bothered or don't have time to get a proper meal. Now I'm thinking about it and of course it's making me hungry. It's after midnight and the only thing to eat in the house is bl**dy cereal!!

I must get more organised with my food shopping. My daughter says I live like a student in a bedsit - right now my fridge contains half a pint of milk, eye cream and a bottle of vodka and that's it! Maybe she has a point.

Do you have supernoodles in the cupboard? If so you have to worry.

i too think that mcdonalds food is yummy... but i know i should not have it every other day... its ridiculously bad for health... hardly has a component in it .. which is good for health... ...other than their food.. i love the ice creams.. they are too soft....and also they give the best coke... i dont know what is different in it... but its just that its really cold and also good... then out of all the coffe shop cold coffees... i think none of them match the cold coffee of mcdonalds... its just too good

Why are you a 3 star? Is it maybe because you use excessive punctuation.

I think the food tastes great, I love their fries but I haven't been there in years, I can't even remember how long and I won't ever eat there again, because of how they do business, because of the poor animals that are getting abused so people can have a cheap burger, all the other nasty crap that goes into their food, and just how they are affecting the entire planet. I boycott McDonalds and if I ever catch my kids eating there I'll take away their allowance and ground them for a month. Seriously.

It is good that you are passionate about it. We need more poeple like you around. I must admit that I am too lazy but I do admire the heart in you.

I am not a big fast food fan in general because I am worried that the place is not clean, the kids that make the food don't wash their hands etc... adn the food itself is greasey and full of calories. However, as an interesting side note.... I ahve noticed from my travel from Canada to the USA and back again (I live in Canada) our menus are different. In Canada Mcdonalds offers salads (probably around 7 different kinds). They also have deli sandwiches which contain very few calories. The deli sandwiches are pretty good. And they also have a roasted veggie sandwich for the vegitarians out there. In the USA they don't have the salads or the deli sandwiches, just burgers and fries. Also in Canada you can get POUTINE mmmmmmmm this is french fries with cheese curds and gravy on top. It is so good, not just from Mcdonalds because their poutine isn't the greatest but poutine in general is yummy stuff!

I do not there very much anymore, but it is still a good place to take the kids for a treat. You just have to realize what you are getting and what you are putting in your kids body. It's OK every now and then. As far as the staff, I think that is more reflective of management than the pay. I worked at Burger King when I was in high school and the store ran exceptionally well under two different managers. The third one, however, was not very good and there were always complaints when he worked. The owner finally figured it out and fired him. There are semi-healthy choices on the McDonald's menu now - you just have to go that route when you eat there. Or take your meal when everyone is going there and eat outside or in the car.

Oh no - I absomutely loathe MacDonalds. I am vegetarian anyway, so would never eat their food, but they have such a bad record for exploitation in the Third World, and have destroyed so many rainforests to sustain their business. It is actually one of my "pet" subjects so I will try not to go on too much - but they really do disgust me. Btw - did you know they own the "Pret a Manger" chain too? So even if you try and go there for healthier food, you are still feeding their exploitative business practices? OK - sorry to rant.
15 May 07
I didn't know that they owned Pret a Manger. That is why I think that food is rubbish too.

This is funny - I had McDonalds last night for the first time in weeks, I was just really craving a greasy burger. I did ask for my fries without salt though. I'm not a big salter eater and too often they go so over board I can't stand to eat them or will actually take a napkin and try to wipe some of it off. Agree on the staff totally, they pay horrid and seem to get the worst service around except for maybe Taco Bell, I've never gotten good service there.

I think here is the UK they no longer put the salt on here. There was this big overhaul where they had to start telling us about how much salt and whatever are in them and the goverment have scrutinised them so much that they stopped doing it.

I love McDonalds. We dont eat there very often though. I like the double cheeseburgers with pickles and onions only and the fries are fantastic. If we go there for reakfast I get the breakfast burritos and a hash brown. Our McDonalds doesnt have deli sandwiches.

I hate Mcdonalds food and other fast food places. I used to eat there when I was young and stupid and had no taste. Now I get the occasional craving for a sausage mcmuffin, I drive all the way there thinking it is going to be great, then I eat it and am disgusted with myself and the mcmuffin. I can't remember the food being as bad as it is now when I was a kid. I guess it was tho.

Probably tastes worse now that they have to tell you what is in it that they aren't putting as much rubbihs in it just now.

I like McDonalds fries. I think they should more on quality of their resturants instead of quanity of their resturants. I only go to McDonalds when there absolutely no other place to go. I also think they should pay a higher starting wage so that they can hire people who actually want to work there.

Every once in a blue moon we will take the kids there as a treat. There isn't a McDonald's in our town, although there are two chippers, so they would be more of a usual option. The food at McDonald's is pretty awful, although now that they have widenend the menu there is a lot more choice and some of it is fairly good. Sometimes, you just really want the awful, gross, you know it is bad for you stuff. It just tastes so right!

I have to say nothing in the world would persuade me to eat there. Everything they stand for disgusts me, the lack of care about the food value and ethical sourcing of their ingredients, the way they treat staf, the general trashyness of the place. I can eat far better for cheaper by cooking at home. If I want a burger and chips, i can have big huicy delicious ones knowing exactly what is in them, not eat fast food rubbish that only exists to make money for the shareholders.

well I could remember a study on fastfood calories and healthiness factor before and Mcdonalds gave the best scores for being the healthiest when it comes to their products. Well I dont know if it were true or not, But from what i hear mcdonalds spend millons on processes that can reduce the bad cholesterol, calories and other health degrading stuff on their food. But for eating healthy I would suggest try Asian foods, although they have a huge assortment of seasonings all of these are natural, the process of just stir frying vegetables meats and herbs in vegetable oil helps maintan the goodness of the ingridients. My suggestion to Mcdonalds try to go Asian with your new ideas of fast food, this might begin a new era for healty eating :)
