Do you know 1 cup of cooked rice has 100 calories

So I think reducing rice intake is good for weight concious people. Want to know your opinion.

Yeah ofcoure the first thing you should do if you want to be thinner is to cut out the carbs thats a really easy diet and then you should eat protein and fat instead.

I would think that different kinds of rice would have different caloric intakes i.e wild rice vs brown vs white etc. I love rice but white rice turns to sugar far too quickly for me unfortunately :(

Reducing rice is also a good idea but in Orissa which is a rice eating state people are not fat as their method of cooking removes the starch from it and reduces the calorie intake of rice. What they do is they put lots of water in rice while cooking and after sometime remove the water containing lots of starch and leave little water just sufficient to cook. The starch water they use to stiffen their clothes so do not waste that either.

I didn't realize they were so few calories in rice!! I always add something to my rice though, I can't eat it plain, it is usually butter and then salt & pepper. Or salsa to make it spicy =)
