When I go to my Article Status page under my article title and article columns it sayds Active in green lettering. Can anyone tell me what that means? And also what does the Leap Frog mean on that same page? At the end of every column? Thank you!

Active means that it's well active..that its been posted for anyone to read--so of course that's a great thing...Leap frog gets me though..I think it means that if you want to change the category status of where the story was originally posted --say you wrote an article under Pets and under the subcategory "cats" but want to switch it to "pets and health" --at least I think that's what it means....LOL

Active means your published article is Active. The other things you may not have seen near your articles, since you're new are "deleted". Periodically Helium deletes some of the articles. I've recently had 3 deleted. In one case they deleted everyone in the same topic. They deleted another one on an article I initiated, but no one else wrote to the topic, and I was the only one, so the topic wasn't very popular. They've also been moving Helium community to a different category so have been deleting some of those topics. The other thing you might see is "rejected". That's when you start an article topic that no one else has written towards, that aren't part of Helium's listed topics. They might reject or accetp one you initiate for various reasons. The Leapfrog is used to correct grammar, spelling, typos, spacing, or if you thing rewriting your article will make it better, and help it go higher in ratings. You can only leapfrog the same article one time each week. After 7 days you can leapfrog the same article again. The more articles you submit the more leapfrogs you get. I've only leapfrogged two so far, the first leapfrog, the article's ratings went down, slightly worse then before I leapfrogged it. The 2nd leapfrog has helped the articles ratings (going up) somewhat but not a great deal.

When you write an article, it becomes active. I don't really think that has too much meaning. However, the Leapfrog is something you earn by writing more articles. After a certain number of articles, you get a LeapFrog. This means that you can go in and edit or change one of your articles. Normally, there is no editing or changing allowed once you have written something. With a LeapFrog, you can go back into an article and re-do it as little or as much as you would like. Why would you want to do that? Well, if the article has a low ranking, you could rewrite it to try and get a higher ranking. Or, if you discover a few grammar or spelling errors that may cause you to get a lower ranking, you could try and improve upon what you wrote. I noticed in one of my articles, I got someone's first name wrong, and being able to LeapFrog would allow me to go in and fix it (so I don't look so dumb!). Much as I am saying this, I have not yet done it. I always seem to be focusing on new stuff. It'd be interesting to see if it makes any difference!
