Do you obseve people at public places When I am waiting for someone at a public place ...I observe others. How do they behave...how do they react. What kind of expressions come on to their faces' What gestrues do they do. I found some people doing gestures also while talking on the mobile...as they are visible to fellow on the other side LOL!. Mostly I see tense faces.....as they have all the worries of the world with them. I find some of them smiling or laughing. Some of them I see making faces. Some of the ladies checking their make-up and dress etc. Some of them talking to themselves. I really enjoy observing unknown people. What about you? Thanks

Hello, deepak, although i am not a good observant,i always like to observe the strangers in the public area.I can always see the guys checking out the bodies of some women at the back or when the women did not notice them,i can even see them drool.lol.And i can imagine what they are thinking of at that moment.

Anna, what a reply and what a remarkable observation you have made about guys checking out the bodies of some women! Excellent! Now please don't say that you are not a good observer. From your reply I find that you are a very keen observer and whatever you have written is almost correct. I think you would have observed the things at your place...but I can tell you that observing (rather I should use the word 'gazing' or 'staring') women here in India would be at far higher rate and intensity than at your place. I liked your reply very much, coz it is practical and to the point.+ rated. deepak

I do that also but not very often. I usually do that when i ride the bus when the trip is long because of heavy traffic. You could see a lot of different faces the noises and everything inside the bus.

dear deepak, firstly sorry for being late in responding. i know you will understand. now, about your post, frankly speaking, i am not a good observer. as you know, being a very reclusive person , i like to confine myself only to a few selected friends and known ppl. when we freak out, i have seen a few of my friends are in an observing spree and scanning and postmorteming every other guy or girl. i am not very enthusiastic about this. however, i appreciate when i come across beautiful ppl and children. i can gaze at the children without getting bored. deepak, i have seen boys watching girls (chicks)as if there is no tomorrow. and you know what even the girls watch girls more thatn they do boys!! that's a secret i have just shared with you. now, coming to you. it's but obvious that you are a good observer. i can make it out from your thoughtful, descriptive posts. you pick experiences from daily life and pen them down so beautifully. they are simple, touching, good observes. watching ppl do give us a strange impetus to live. pls keep up the good work going. thanx.

Allow me to use your words - 'No one appreciate me more than you". Yes, you have mentioned a very very interestng point...observing children at public places...it is really really great fun to watch as who do they behave at public places and other places also. Thanks so much for sharing the secret that now a days young girls watch more boys than the boys watching girls. Today's teens are way ahead than our time. When you use flattering words for me....it really really make me jittery and nervous (believe me). And of course kind words from you boost my moral up.No doubt I try to pick up my experiences from daily life....cannot say whether I am good observer or not... but I try to observe others keenly....I find it great fun and enjoyment. Thanks for your appreciation, sharing your thoughts, secrets and views (please please do not use the word 'sorry'....I do not expect this word from a dear friend you...if you have not replied to my discussion, I can well understand, that there must be some reasons....this kind of trust and faith I have on you...and that will remain) deepak

Mex, I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I mis-read it...what Mimpi wanted to convey that girls watch more girls than boys....I think ....I missed this point. This is called keen observance...and you showed how keen observer you are! Great! I appreciate your gesture. Deepak

Not so often but when I find a place and a time that I can I do.As you say you can see so different reaction.Some of then are so funny and make you laugh watching them actions and some others make you wonder what they have at them mind or what can make them seems so unhappy like the world is over for them. Last but not least the *love in*people.You can understand them from far away.They have a funny ,silly smile at them face and whatever happen around them it's not them concern...they lice at them unique world lol;

Thanks aidonia for sharing your views. You say - 'whatever happen around them it is not their concern...'. I agree with you. Even if I observe somebody...I try not to offend him/her or I observe in such a manner that the person being observed should not notice me. Deepak

I love watching people and seeing what they do, when they are not aware of anyone looking at tham. You can see a lot of different things by observing them. They do make faces sometimes, or you can tell that they are talking to themseleves which is also intersting. We have this one girl at work who stands at this window, it is the ones you can see out, but no one can see in. Well we watch her and it is a hoot, she will stand there posing, and making different ones, and then she watches herself in the mirror, she does this the whole time she is out on her break, or lunch.

Hi, dpk262006. To be honest, I do observe people at public places when I walk around with my friends. However, I just glance them from time to time under the circumstances which the person wasn't aware of my attention. :) I like observing children very much because of their cute behavior. Like one of other myLotters said, there do exists one phenomenon that girls prefer watching other girls than watching boys nowadays. I think they may pay much attention to the appearance no matter themselves or others. But we do find some secrets or habits of other people when observing. Just my own opinions. Thank you for sharing the funny discussion with us. Have a nice day! :)

It's really amusing to observe people in a public place. Each and every one is doing something, showing various gestures, and also facial expressions. I am also interested in observing the behavior of people especially in public places.

I think that observing people is a good way to pass time esp. when you are travelling or waiting for some one in any public place. I think most of the people observe when they are waiting or travelling, although, when you find out that you are being observed, you mostly feel irritated & in some situations embaraced. So, my technique is to observe but without getting detected. Also, when I find out that some one is looking at me, most of the time, I'll just start looking at something else N start thinking about something else & let the observer observe me but ignore his obervance, a time will come when he/she will STOP observing you. Thats my point of view. Anyways, U should mostly observe the most ODD things. If your caught observing then just WAVE or say "HI" then either the other person would reply in the same way or just ignore you.

I do too. I don't mean to be rude by staring at people and observing them, but I find it interesting in how they dress, react to certain situations and so forth. Children get to me though, i love kids and whenever I see a little toddler in a pram or learning how to walk etc, I get all clucky and always want to go up to them and smile, and just go "googoo gaaga" over them LOL I know sounds weird but oh well!

I used to do that when I was young, back in my school days. My friends and I would get together during breaktime waiting for the next class and watch people go by. It's nice to see different expressions of people. Unfortunately I don't do that anymore as I'm too busy with family and work. I haven't got time anymore to be with my friends. Sometimes when I'm walking I can feel that other people are looking at me, watching me like what we used to do before. LOL

In fact I do now that you mention it bringing it to my conscious awareness. Mostly I observe the 'bussiness (being busy and on the move all the time)' people seem to engage in so self righteously. I look for the deeper psychological motivations in these people who do not appear to be slowing down to enjoy life but rather race through it. This does depend on where I go, like the ocassional mall well much of the people there are shopping like hungry vultures while the other half are equally observing the pettiness of the whole thing. Nevertheless, people observed in public places are often much different if these same people were to be observed at home. It is interesting to see what technology, society, responsibility and the human experiment have in common . . . sharing the light, Erica, the Enlightenment Advisor, M.A. Transpersonal Psych Studies Counselor http://www.enlightenment-psych.net/ericasprofile.htm

I try not to do that coz I don't want that done to me. I always feel self conscious when somebody's observing me. I have had some people specially strangers look at me intently and it's just unnerving. But sometimes, I check somebody out specially if they're attractive. LOL.

Natalie, I think it is a matter of your choice whether you wish to observe others or not...but at public places you cannot stop others to observe you...if anybody is attempting that....such is the mentality, that you cannot help it. (So if someone is attractive ...will you check...I think if I happen to observe you...you will surely have a look at me...LOL!) Thanks very much for your response. deepak

yeah, i am an observant... Specially when i'm just sitting alone in some public places. I like watching peoples behaviors. I see different facial expressions. How men look at sexy ladies walking by. some were just talking about just anyone who passes by, laughing, tense faces, making faces to anyone, waiting for someone, just looking at things and just enjoying the view of people with different lives...LOL!!

Its one of my favorite pastimes. I usually check out people when im traveling or waiting in one place for a long time. I usually notice the kind of clothes they are wearing, their facial expressions, etc. Sometimes (if i have a lot of time) I imagine what their individual lives are like - whether they have a fmaily, what kind, etc etc.

Well to start with Interesting discussion :) Ya even me i watch people at public places, but i dont think in mind that i should watch them now, it grabs my attention automatically. Anyways its very funny to watch their stills , and what they do. Usually it happens when i travel from office to home. Lemme just share one of my experience... One day when i was waiting for my office car i found one guy who was also waiting near the bus stop, he was staring at me , i just looked him and he started laughing, and doing strange things like plucking all the leaves in the garden and taking all the papers which are fell on the road, he was not normal man,and then he started rushing towards me and at that time i was really tensed, but thanks to God really for that my office care came exactly at that time and immediately i boarded my car and left ...huh...Thats y some times i am a bit scared to watch people at public places...But anyways as what you said, i too enjoy observing unknown people... Hello Dear Vani, Thanks for wonderful and interesting response. You are like me ....because when we are travelling or waiting for someone...we have to pass our time also and observing others is one of the method to enjoy and pass our time. Observing others gives us an idea...as how we should behave at public placed so that somebody should not laugh at us. The incident you shared is really scary...had I been at your place... I would have run a sprint race LOL! Thanks a lot for your support. + rated. deepak

I love people watching as much as you do! :) I just love observing people anywhere especially when I'm waiting at a restaurant or any public place. I look at even the tiniest details about them. I like to see how women wear their clothes and accessories, and if I see something nice, I make a mental note out of it and adapt it in my own style. It's actually educational as much as entertaining, because I learn a lot about them. :)

If not in a hurried mood i watch strangers. But iam not a good observer. If someone talks so loudly in their mobile i just watch them and think why are they shouting like this.its not only me but i get to see so many people passing them observing this manner. Particularly i watch the behaviour of a half mentally retarded person in the bus terminus where i used to catch my bus daily in the morning. He behaves so indifferently as he teases particularly girls and that too who talks over mobile and chats with their friends in bus stop.

It depends on where I am. If it is on a busy street, I do take the opportunity to observe people if I manage to get a seat while waiting for someone. If I do not have a seat, I will be busy looking out for a seat and forget about the people passing by to and fro unless something great caught my attention! I observe their dressings, their behaviour, the way they talk and what they are doing. For some, I would try to figure what are they and why they are here. Most people are always in a rush, and it is rather difficult for me to see their expressions. Most interesting to watch and observe are couples with their PDAs.

i also enjoy watching people.. i like people a lot, i should have studied psychology or psychiatry or any course tackling human behavior. Whenever im on my way to work or from work to our house, observing people has become my hobby. I even read a book regarding body languages. But i need to reread it again so i can master the techniques written in that book. I watch people, i observe their physical features, the shapes of their faces, the way they walk, the way they talk, the way they dress. Everything they wear reflects their personality, their clothes, the style of their hair, every part of their body also has a meaning. A round face, a mole near in the eyes, a bald head, everything. Their eyes, i like to look straight in their eyes and watch what kind of reactions would i get. Will they get conscious? will they think i am some kind of pervert and rude? I like watching their reactions and gestures. I even have this habit of snap judging people, guessing wat kind of person is the girl sitting beside me. I would like to learn a lot more about humans and their behavior. I need some resources or books. But i know in time, i will be some kind of expert in human behavior. In God's Time...
