I just came from a lovely brunch with my Mom and all of my sisters. The we stopped by our favorite park with the kids. My hubby is doing the laundry and the dishes. The day started with some cards and some cute gifts from my kids. The weather is perfect and I have so much to be tahnkful for! All in all, one of the best Mother's Days yet!

You will all think I'm weird LOL I spent today painting a bench for my front porch and, once I finally got most of it done, I also re-painted the front railing (I was on a roll!). As awful as that might sound, it was actually very relaxing... I sat out in the beautiful sunshine (although, admittedly, it was pretty cool and I was shivering a bit). I don't get to spend nearly as much time as I'd like outside so it was a treat. I had breakfast in bed, courtesy of my daughters, and then headed out into the sun. The family treated me to take-out dinner so I wouldn't have to cook. Then, tonight, I had to pack for one of the girls who is leaving on a school trip for a few days at 7AM tomorrow. Strange Mother's Day, I think :) But, my mom passed away in Nov. 2004 and, without having a celebration for her, I really prefer to spend a quiet and, preferably, busy day. It was a bit hard hearing all the neighbors discussing their dinner plans with their mothers... but I'm also happy for them :) I hope you all had a really lovely day!

I don't think it's weird, sounds like you had a perfectly nice day, doing something you enjoyed doing. I'm sure it is different when you no longer have a mom to celebrate the day with. I thank God that I still have my Mommy!

Well we traveled most of the day visiting our mothers. We had lunch with Hubby's Mom and Dinner with mine. Then when we came home that evening, I got two flowers (one from each of my girls) and some bubble bath from hubby. Like you, we had great weather too and it was a really nice day. BTW missed ya, :-)

Saturday I spent the day with my daughter and step daughter, we met up with my sister and her two daughters, we had lunch then went back to my house. My niece (who's 5) wanted to get "Grammy" something for mother's day. My sister bought 6 balloons, we wrote messages on them and released them in the front yard to send them to her in heaven (she passed away February 21, 2007). Sunday I spent the day with my two sons and husband, we went to the movies. It was a pleasant day, and not nearly as hard as I thought it would be, I did cry when I finished reading my cards, but that's about it, I did think about mom all day, but it was nice to remember her.

i spend mother's day doing the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, mowing the lawn, putting up the pool in the back and taking care of the neighbour kid who came over to play with my daughter. that's just what it's like being a mother so i didn't mind at all.

Hi there! My hubby had to work at the air show today-so he's been gone for 12 hours now and still isn't home! bah! the kids and I just stayed home and hung out! My kids gave me the gifts they made me from school today and we are ordering out for dinner. My parents came to visit for a few days, they just got here a couple of hours ago, and suprised me with a new digital camera, how sweet! :)

We actually went to 2 Asian restaurants today. We took my mom out to lunch and then my mother-in-law and her mother for early dinner. It was a beautiful day and I got a lot of flowers, some of which I planted today.
