thinkingoutloud responded to a discussion called unrequited love in love.
I think I would interpret that sentence to mean that, during the time a person is in love, although unrequited, they feel so happy. They desire someone... they are thinking about them all the time, wanting them, constructing scenarios in their mind where they will someday be together. It's one-sided but they feel truly in love and are pursuing the object of their affection. So I suppose, at tha...

thinkingoutloud responded to a discussion called Do sperm gives good impact on your skin ? in sex.
If you do a search online, you'll find tons of people who really want to believe that ejaculate contains vitamins, proteins, etc., that are good for the skin. However, there is very little evidence that the general medical community supports that theory. I don't think there's been much actual evidence to support any health benefits for the skin. In a lot of cases, people believe that it's somet...

thinkingoutloud responded to a discussion called What Do YOU Think About This? All Answers Welcome. :-) in depression.

It sounds like your friend has had a hellish life for someone who is only 21 [em]sad[/em] It is important for you to understand that she cannot and will not get "better" just by "thinking more positive." So many people do not understand depression. It's not just something that you can wish away or think away or get rid of by "being happier." Depression is a hormonal imbalance in the brain and i...

LOL!! That's one way to make an impact... start talking NUMBERS [em]rofl[/em] Several of my male friends have had vasectomies and it's really not the big deal other men make it out to be. One of my best guy friends told me "I had it done on a Friday, sat on bags of frozen peas over the weekend and went back to work on Monday." That doesn't seem like a huge commitment, if you ask me hehe

Well crud! I'm so sorry that they won't take you [em]sad[/em] It just seems so unfair when you've already shown you can do the job. I had a problem at one job when I was pregnant. I was working for the Vice-President of Corporate Accounting - she was a woman in a man's world, in that particular company - and she treated me terribly. She would tell me all the time that I wasn't allowe...

They make me sick, too! I think she saw it as a weakness for me to be pregnant. She was the only female in upper management in the whole company and she sometimes went overboard trying to be "the tough guy." In fact, she got pregnant herself while working there and she continued to work extremely long days, didn't eat properly, etc. -- it was like she had something to prove to everyone. I r...

Exactly! I took a year off with my first child and a little longer with the second. That time was invaluable. In her case, she mostly liked to shop for her daughter and play dress up -- like she was a doll, not a real baby. The only time she showed any emotion at all was when she got angry with the government... since she made such a high income, they made her pay back the bit of mat lea...

thinkingoutloud commented in a discussion called Getting a second dog in dogs.
My sister found her 2nd and 3rd dogs easy to train because they both followed the example of her oldest dog. She said it was no problem having more. I guess that's something that concerns me a bit because my current and only dog is a very anxious one. He gets nervous for a few things and sometimes has accidents in the house because of his nerves... I think he would be more of a follower than a ...

That is good advice, sjlskl. I've heard too that, sometimes, older dogs are less welcoming to new ones because it's already "their territory" or their home and they are less accepting of sharing it with another dog. I have had my dachshund for one year now so, I think if I'm going to make this decision, it should be sooner than later for the benefit of all concerned :))
