I have seen some posts from people who say they don't like the discussions

posted these days, so they are leaving myLot. I was wondering if some of the "oldsters" on myLot would tell us how the discussions these days are different from the ones that used to be posted.

If it's like most other forums then it goes up and down. I think all forums hit slumps every now and again. I get pretty dry for topics myself every so often.

I often have trouble coming up with ideas for discussions! I usually just post then.

I have been here for almost four months and I have to admit that its getting harder for me to choose the discussions that interest me. I was able to post about 50 to 60 a day. Now, its down to about 30 a day since I kept moving my mouse choosing good discussions. After responding to friend's discussions, I tried to circle around from top discussions, hot topics, to newbies, 0 responses and so on. There are so many discussions that are similar and others that I can't contribute my two cents worth of response.

There have been some days I didn't find anything to turn me on, but I figure it mostly mood! I've been here three months, but haven't noticed any change in general.

I don't see a lot of difference between the ones now and before. There have always been days that I couldn't find anything, and I just pick a friend and go to their page. If they have not started anything I want to respond to I will check out the ones they have responded to and usually I have to many to respond to that way. The one's that start discussions saying they can not find any thing they want to respond to,IMHO, have not looked very well. There are people out their with no responses that could really use some responses, and if we just look, there are some good ones in that list. Try the interests, or even hop over to the blogs. There are a lot of good ones in there too. If I REALLY can't find anything to respond to, I just log-off till later and Usually there are some better ones later.

I responded to one discussion like that. this member had 12000 post count so really has been here a lot longer than I for sure. I only joined mylot 4 months ago and sometimes I get to spend a lot of time here and sometimes not. I can only say that I don't see any difference from discussions back then and recently. There are always discussions breaking the rules, interesting and not interesting discussions, or simply discussions with bad grammar or spelling. It really is up to us what to do. If we don't find anything interesting to respond, we sure can start a topic ourselves. Or if it breaks the rules then we can report these discussions.

There are many aspects to one topic, so having "repeat discussions" or the same topic bought up several times doesn't bother me at all, one reason is, there are always new people signing up to mylot and keeping discusiions moved to the top is quite hard. Mylot doesn't make easy to search through topics as well so this is an advantage (I think). If a topic doesn't appeal to me, I don't read it, if it does I do! I have noticed a huge decline in responses, not so much to my own but to other people I would respond to quite often, I've also noticed alot of deleted discussions as well, some of which I cannot understand why, none of my own but some of my friends topics, it's just not making sense.

I've seen people complain about deleted discussions. It hasn't happened to me so far, but then my discussions are pretty benign, I think.
