in the 1990s, cellphones were not really that rampant. people survived right? but now, cellphones are really rampant! almost everybody in the whole world are adicted to mobile phones. which leads me to wonder - can the world survive without cellphones?

No, of course not i cant imagine a life without cell phones, as these have become a very vital necessity in our life. A person can forget his purse at home, but by no chance he can forget his mobile at home. Also by using his cell phone, he can connect with anyone at anytime.

I don't use my pone a lot but I think they are a good idea in emergencies like when your car breaks down or when you are walking alone, in case you are approached. However I think they are really expensive and people are just making money out of something that people are convinced that they need when they don't really.

wow, i admire you. you seem to be so detached from your cellphone. i really dont think i can do that because ever since cellphones have become rampant in the society, i really consider it as the most indispensable gadget in my life. :)

ofcourse it can survive without cellphones cuz there are phone booths from where people can speak but the only problem is that there will be more problems cuz calls cannot be made at emergencies and stuff like that but a world without cellphones will be a better place to live in and really i mean it ;)

While cell phones are convenient, I have little difficulty with the idea of a cell phone free world. I don't have one. I can't afford one because I'm on a small fixed income. In the cellphone free past, there were many more phone booths. They have gone the way of the dodo bird. You hardly see a phone booth any more, and if you do, it hardly ever works. That makes cellphones important in an emergency because there are no more call boxes. Some businesses are cold enough not to let you use their phones even under duress.

yes, i agree with you. almost everybody in the world are having cellphones. cellphones are also very useful in emergencies because that is our only way to contact people through wireless communication. it would be impossible to look for a phone booth if we;re under a lot of rubble, right? lolz.

I'm not addicted to my phone or anything but I am very dependant on it. Especially messaging.

yeah, me too, im very dependent on messaging. i send a lot more text messages than use my cell phone for calling other people. text messaging is also cheaper so that's why i tend to use it rather than call.

I feel the world could survive without cell phoes just as many years ago the survived without formula milk and throw away nappies, however I feel that now they have become such a big part of everyones life they woudl be greatly missed. not only can you keep a diary on there, use them for calculations and take pictures when you are out you can also use them to access your bank account and internet, oh and not to mention calls and texts lol. I think that cell phones are like elcectricity, you can survive without them but they do make your life a lot easier as do tin openers, automatic cars, adn tumble dryers.

There's nothing worse than a loud cell phone talker at the next table ignoring his or her screaming baby while your trying to eat your dinner at a restaurant. My doctor will not allow a cell phone call while she is consulting with you either, she is so annoyed with the little devices!

i agree with you. cellphones have really made life a lot easier ever since they came to be invented. however, some think that it also brings some disadvantages but in my opinion, it brings more advantages than disadvantages. :)
